Adam FINALLY Does The Right Thing

So Madam just tweeted that he did a It Gets Better video. About. Freaking. Time.

One of the things that is so incredibly frustrating about him and his Sparkle Cows is how they howl about gay rights but where the chicken meets the dirt there’s zero action. He could use his voice, as many gay and straight celebs have, to bring attention to the problems of LGBT teens being bullied into suicide but until today he’s been silent.

Too bad the Cows aren’t going to follow his lead and make any sort of real action in the name of gay rights. They’d rather sit around on the internets and bitch that the reason he’s not more famous is because everyone is a homophobe. Hypocritical blowhards.

Sheesh those cows commenting on the video seemed to be armed with Republican speaking points. They think its great that Adam didn’t just speak to gay youth but to all people who might be bullied.

Gak! The Cow responses are just truly reprehensible! Even Tea Partiers aren’t that lockstep brain washed or drooly.

  3. nonna-muss Says:

Most of his comment was about him. He had to ‘mention’ his super sparkly world tour and his CD’s. I expected nothing less.

  4. Eww Says:

Too bad he’s a hypocrite. According to his former classmates, bitch was a bully and prima donna at high school and picked on kids who were smaller than him (ie almost everyone else).

I gotta say, I’m not trying to stereotype Californians as liberal or anything (heck, I hear Orange County is pretty damn conservative), but I’m betting Adam didn’t have to deal with nearly the amount of homophobia or bullying that most small town kids do. Didn’t Adam go to a performing arts school in San Diego? I’ve known people who teach at those schools; those environments are usually WAY more tolerant.

I am trying to at least respect the fact that some gay youth might take something from Lambert’s contribution but it’s a far cry from a lot of the videos I’ve seen, especially Joel Burn’s heartfelt and courageous contribution:

nonna-muss, somebody at MJ’s said that Lambert missed the point and made it all about “me, me, me” and the pile up on that poster was amazing.

Sometimes I wonder if Lambert actually understands LGBT issues. He doesn’t seem to recognize that words like choice and lifestyle can be misconstrued to support anti-gay speaking points.
