David Cook Tour: Week 1 Recap

This has been a long strange week. Let’s recap the action…

Those overinvolved crazy lacking self awareness hard core ladies of the Tard Pack has reemerged with a vengeance. Their behavior still borders on that sliding scale from tacky to stupid all the way to criminal. I’m not even going to comment on the band mugging in some of the VIP photos or the fact that most of the insane have no idea what looks appropriate in public based on age and/or size in clothing.

Tour Du Tacky Doings Week 1

Running hands through his hair without an invitation.
Demanding to know if he reads certain internet sites.
Chasing him down the street like a pack of giggling girls.
Taking videos of the sound check after being told not to, posting those videos online resulting in the ban of all phones and cameras at the sound checks. STILL managing to outwit security and KEEP doing it.
Bringing stupid signs to the concerts even after Cook made a remark about them blocking view & demanded someone with signs be removed.
Buying up multiple VIP packages after being asked nicely not to by RCAEd, following the tour from place to place and just generally shoving yourself in front of Cook every chance you get.
Fighting with Gavin DeGraw fans at the gig so badly that Gavin has to take the stage and ask everyone to grow a brains, some class and stop the fan wars.

I know I’ve forgotten some but this head cold is impairing critical thinking this morning, like I’m part of the Tard Pack. I tard for bad Tard behavior.

PS to those that were twittering about taking me down. Where were you yesterday? You could have outed me as a big old meanie poo-poo head easy. I was playing in a golf tournament at the local country club, my name was publicly listed in the paper as being there. You missed another opportunity to ‘get’ me. Today I will be back at the club, over to the local college and in the grocery store, more opportunities for you guys..

  1. Beauxcefus Says:

OOOOO, When did DeGraw issue a smackdown on badly behaving hyenas, er, fans? 🙂 I missed this *rubs hands*

    • just dont get it Says:

      i missed that too!

      • freedavidcook Says:

There was a blog that claimed that during the Tulsa show Gavin discussed the fan war and told them to stop that nonsense. Have not been able to find video of it.

      • just dont get it Says:

i have to admit – none of this behavior surprises me in the least!

      • nonna-muss Says:

I read the blog but have not seen the video. Also, Gavin was talking to both fandoms, not just Cook’s. I saw the video where he explained that the reason he was on tour with David was because they were good friends, he loves him and he loves his show. That comment led me to believe that his fans were questioning his choices…sound familiar? I’ve heard about Gavin fans drunkingly ‘spilling’ their cocktails on Cook fans and laughing about it and generally just being rude. I’m not surprised to hear someone lost a tooth.

      • songkat7 Says:

I did see a video of it on YouTube. Not sure how to search for it right now, I stumbled upon it.

  2. Jen Says:

Supposedly someone had a tooth knocked out at the Tulsa show but I don’t know if that was a Cook or Degraw fan. lol

  3. Natasha Says:

Keep looking, Songkat, keep looking, LOL. I gots to see this!!!

  4. SeenTheLight Says:

Here’s the video where Gavin discusses the two fanbases.

    • nonna-muss Says:

Thank you for finding that SeenTheLight. It really makes me sad that Gavin even had to do that. I truly don’t understand what is wrong with people. It’s music! Music is supposed to soothe the soul. Concerts are supposed to be fun. David and Gavin are out there trying to make people happy, let them forget about their worries for a night.

I’m glad they are taking a stand. I’m afraid David’s fans might not hear Gavin’s plea unless David “The Source” Cook says it himself. I hope he does.

      • MissyM Says:

Oh yes they don’t believe anything unless it comes from “the source” David himself. Sometimes David doesn’t have to say it. Others say it for him. Love that Gavin did this.

    • Fluffy Says:

That makes me sad, too, that he even had to do that. I’ve seen some nasty shit come out of both camps… wish peeps would grow up 😦

    • I have a new respect for Mr Degraw.

It is pretty sad when a musician–any musician- gets to the point–particularly so early in the tour– where he feels something needs to be said to a room full of adults about how to behave.

I am assuming that Degraw is more well known in the music business than Cook is. When behavior like this becomes common knowledge, surely it can’t bode well for David in the future if other musicians’ management who may at some point have considered touring with him observe that this is one of the “problems” that follow him on the road.

Point being, Ryan Star is currently on tour with the headlining GooGoo Dolls. I am not aware of any missing teeth (false or otherwise) so far in that tour.

      • nonna-muss Says:

In all fairness, as I’ve said, I’ve heard the Cook fans are not the only ones with behavior problems. Anyone remember when FDC first posted about the tour and a few Gavin fans came here and said they always had to be in front for their man and didn’t care who they had to shove out of the way?

      • Fluffy Says:

Ryan Star definitely has his very own little tard pack. I’ve been to one of his shows (other than seeing him open for Cook) and, wow. He definitely inherited some of the super special Cook fans 🙂

      • songkat7 Says:

Fluffy – true, some of them jumped ship and switched over to Ryan. One is even employed on his team now.

  5. Maybe this has been seen by you guys already, but I just stumbled across it. Had seen the pants rip video after it happened but this is him actually out in the crowd. Trying to see where someone had their hands in his hair and pulled him up. Who was taking credit for that?

  6. Seenthelight, thanks for sharing that. Gavin sounded pretty classy the way he said what he did, but this is absolute proof that Cook thinks the LF is a damn embarrassment to him. Now he has to step up and bitchslap them just like this.

    • Exactly, otherwise he’s going to be looking out at a sea of gums and flying dental work.

Being a nice guy is one thing. His silence could appear to some as almost condoning (dare I say enabling?) the Tardmass to behave however they want —like morons.

Time to drop the Mr Nice Guy, David. Stop being “their David-Cookie-Crumb-Fan- Fic-Porn-Blowup-Doll’ and get some real balls.

Not just the ones the Tards swear they’ve seen. Jeez, man. Just do it!

      • burt Says:

I don’t see his silence as condoning anything – I just see it as a man wanting to earn a living, keep the fans he has and just get on with it – all while probably hoping people take on board to more subtle comments he does make and actually grow up.

I don’t blame him for keeping quiet, they will all think he’s talking about other fans anyway but any that do listen (if any) will get so angry that it will be blown out of all proportion and who knows where that will end – both with physical safety and backlash to him. I don’t know much about Gavin but I assume he’s “bigger” (in terms of having more music released, being better known and being more established) so I would guess that’s why he addressed it not David.

People are talking like Gavin saying something is a big revelation because it’s proof that David thinks the same way. Well of course he does, any right-minded person knows the way some behave is wrong but as Nonna said, it’s NOT just his fans. It isn’t even just these two groups of fans, it happens all the time and is something a lot of people have to deal with.

I also don’t buy that the fans have anything to do with whether David is supporting other groups. It’s to do with so much more than that and I wonder bookers even think about that much at all.

      • burt Says:

There’s a couple of other things I forgot to say last night:

Didn’t David get a lot of shit from the press when he spoke out about fans behavior on MySpace? Why would he risk that happening again? The last thing he needs is bad press especially if it highlights the fans actions. I think I remember him saying afterwards that what he learned was he should approach people individually if they are doing something wrong. We have no way to know if that is happening because they will hardly be singing about it (although there would probably be rumors).

Why should he have to say something at a show about behavior when it’s such a small percentage of people in attendance behaving badly? Again it only highlights it to everyone else, we would laugh but other people might be tempted to go and look it up online. Would that do him any good? His shows are for everyone there not just the hardcore pack so it’s fine to not address it if he chooses not to.

If he does decide to say or do something then good for him, it will take balls and we here will applaud. But I’m just saying there are a lot of reasons for him not too, it’s not as simple as we always think and in some ways, it makes him the bigger person to not give them attention and just ride it out – with a few sarcastic comments along the way.

      • Touche Burt. Points well taken. Sometimes this site just gets me all riled and caught up in the insanity 🙂 Plus the longer it goes on the more fun we have here lol 🙂

  7. just dont get it Says:

I wonder what the front row has been like. I am assuming that anyone in the front row has just stayed there for both acts? Personally I would probably move back if David performed first, I could care less about being near the front for Gavin and would probably head to the bar for a drink while i watched him! I wonder if that’s how Gavin’s fans feel about David? Has anyone been able to tell if there are more fans for one or the other at these shows?

  8. MissyM Says:

I missed the sign thing. Someone please share. When did this happen & is there video somewhere? I wish David would come out and tell these tards to stop all of this. Do they have to go to every show. & if they do, do they have to get VIP to all. & get in the front row?

  9. MissyM Says:

Sorry I meant Nonna-Muss Thanks for finding & posting this.

  10. One Expression for so Many Tards

Hope this will work—turn it up and maybe have a laugh.

  11. WilcoisAwesome Says:

It’s definitely not just David’s fans. There were a lot of rumblings of tomfoolery prior to the tour starting from both camps on Twitter. Cool of GDG to get up and say something – perhaps it was the Twitter hate that prompted him to say something – and not any physical altercations, but who knows.

    • freedavidcook Says:

Truer words were never stated than those at the end of your video Karen. I just feel bad for him now. I hope he’s making piles of money off the tards to be putting up with that much crap. His tour looks like eating a shit sandwich to me, lots of bread but crap in the center.

  12. Jen Says:

You know what I didn’t realize is that Angie and co. were pissed and all “what’s wrong with people?!” because someone took her vid from soundtrack and apparently put it publicly on youtube or something. Uh, how about don’t take the damn video against his wishes in the first place, dipshit.

    • nonna-muss Says:

Yeah, tossing the blame on someone else. If she never took it there would be no fear of it ending up where it wasn’t supposed to. Tard logic at work—-it’s not my fault! I only took the video! I didn’t post it on youtube or make mp3s! It’s that persons fault.

Stop taking video! It’s not allowed at VIP and now it’s no longer allowed at shows either. (according to a Gavin fan I saw mentioning it was a tour decision, her tweet was posted at DCO)

      • Jen Says:

I saw that too but other people said they had no problem taking video so who knows. David’s never had a problem with videos during the concerts, which is why it’s so infuriating that the one time he asks that they not video they can’t oblige him.

      • songkat7 Says:

Remember, we are talking about the person who felt it was okay to film David with his nephew with a long-angle lens…according to the person who posted that here on another thread. So, not surprising…

  13. YoTaylor Says:

I am a casual fan of both David & Gavin DeGraw and it is a shame some small factions of the fanbases are fighting enough for Gavin to mention. When I first heard about the tour I thought Dave & Gavin were a very complementary pairing. Unfortunately the people causing the problem can never realize what they are doing.

  14. biancaboo Says:

Finally coming out of lurkerdom to share an interview: http://www.theconcertscene.com/David_Cook.html

and this sad quote at the very end:

Before I let you go, is there any sort of scoop… something random… anything that you can give us that maybe hasn’t been published on you before?
DC: The unfortunate thing about that question is my fans are pretty hardcore, so I don’t know if there’s anything that’s not already out there. My mom made us cookies… they’re on the bus. They’re pretty awesome. I’m trying to avoid them at all costs so I don’t fall off the wagon. That’s pretty much the scoop on us so far. ::laughs::

    • nonna-muss Says:

It’s sad that he feels that his fans know everything about him except that his mom baked him cookies. And too bad he’s in training and can’t have any! I wouldn’t have that much willpower.

    • burt Says:

Come on, there’s plenty fans don’t know about him. That’s partly why he stays under the radar and is careful with what he shares. I’d guess what he wanted to say was “I get asked that all the time. I’ve shared what I want to share and I don’t want to tell you anything else because the fans know enough about me already.”. Don’t feel too bad for him, I think he does a good job of not sharing everything.

Speaking of the cookies and training, I saw a few tweets recently where people were complaining that he was eating badly and tweeting band members to not give him bad food (or something) because he’s in such good shape right now. Didn’t see it mentioned in relation to the marathon. Seriously?! He can’t always eat healthy on the road and aside from training he gets a work out every night. (Erm, on stage, I mean.) But they still begrudge him McDonalds or nachos Or whatever they had an issue with. Now, that’s sad.

      • MissyM Says:

What he eats is just another thing they fell need to have control over. I would love to see him come on stage one night with a large pizza or something and just stuff his face with it.

      • freedavidcook Says:

That would just make Daina scream out how much she loves pizza…

      • They would love it! Remember everyone was having a big O when he ate pasta or something on stage during the last show of the tour? Seeing him eat turns them on. Probably one of the few private things he has left at this point.

    • MissyM Says:

Sad thing is when he says his fans are pretty hardcore, he means they are crazy or psycho. The sad thing really is that most of them don’t get it. I don’t understand why someone needs to know every little thing about another person; especially one they don’t even have a relationship with in real life. I bet most don’t even know as much about their own families as they do about Cook and his.

      • just dont get it Says:

they all see “hardcore” as a good thing – devoted, loyal etc, not crazy in the least!

  15. nonna-muss Says:

Hey everybody! Guess who went to her third VIP out of the first 7 shows of the tour! Can you guess? Awww, c’mon…you know.

Here’s her 674,512th picture with him.

    • Jen Says:

Ahahaha I was just coming here to post that! I just don’t GET it. I would be so friggin’ embarrassed. And at $75 a pop! I was ambivalent at the idea of a paid M&G since he’s always talked about wanting to keep costs for fans low but damn, you kinda can’t blame him for draining them dry.

      • nonna-muss Says:

He would have appreciated it more if she did one VIP and donated the other money spent to ABC2. I think she has one more VIP so that would have been $225 to charity. Then let’s factor in the $45 after show M&G. So sad.

      • songkat7 Says:

I am assuming that over time, they might think they’re just visiting with a friend or something. David’s got to stop calling the fans “family”; some take it quite literally.

And can people please stop calling him “bb” and “bf”? He’s neither to you.

      • burt Says:

Wow. I would be so embarrassed too. I wonder if they feel that deep down but overcome it or if it’s just missing entirely? I dunno, maybe go to two – one serious pic and one funny one. Get your stuff signed, fine. But why keep going? Why PAY to spend time with someone? If he wanted to be friends he would hang out with them in bars or wherever like other people do but constantly paying to see him means that will never happen because he will always look at them a little differently.

As for looking at him and the band as family – do you think they pay to spend time with their family too? Seriously, has he really said that about fans being family?

      • burt Says:

Oh and the only way any of them would do a donation instead of seeing him is by turning up at an event with one of those giant charity checks so they could make a big thing of it. It would only be right that he definitely knew about the donation. But then the photo probably wouldn’t be quite right so they would need to see him again… there will *always* be a reason to see him. Do they even try to explain their reasons? Aside from just saying hello and feeling like his success (financial or chart) is purely down to them, of course.

      • songkat7 Says:

Burt, yeah, he keeps referring to himself and all the fans (not just the bsc ones but all) as “family”.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

At those rates he could at least give a gal a handjob. What a whore.

      • And on a lighter note, speaking of handjobs. . . .

      • And didn’t the guy at :55 look like Andy a little?

  16. Lana Says:

    Now Songkat7
you know he’s their bb and bf,
At least that’s what Nycarole426 thinks. If I see one more tweet or post to him with her calling him that. Or how she calls him her rock star, and the way she types. I think I might scream. All these old and married women lusting over him. What’s wrong can’t their husbands get it up anymore?

    • Rubber Ducky Says:

I bet they can’t even bear to look at these women, let alone think of wanting to fuck them.

      • Beauxcefus Says:

You got that right Rubber Ducky. That Titanic sailed long, long, long, long ago for these broke down, to’ up from the flo’ up, wanna be groupies. Some present company excluded, but the broke down wanna be groupie vibe is what I get from many Cooktards. other Idols. Your ballroom days are over bay-bee, time to hang up the delusions of just ‘having fun’ and go somewhere and sit the hell down. I laugh at these wildebeasts so hard, cause in their minds you just know they must be thinking, ‘If I was 20-30 years younger, 100-200 lbs. lighter, had a hotter face/bod/blond hair he’d want me’! 🙂 Heaven forbid and help him if these wildebeasts really believe he’d want them or look 2x at them in their present states 🙂

    • Black Angel Says:

Don’t blame the husbands. The old ladies want to trade in their husbands for a younger, hotter model. The problem is the younger, hotter model does NOT want you and will NEVER want you. So, where is your self-respect?

      • freedavidcook Says:

Sometimes I think the husbands are probably relieved that the wife has something to do that gets her out of his hair.

Most of the Idol Fans seem to be ladies that married very young, never had the chance to run around having a good time and going to concerts when they were young. Had kids, didn’t get an education and now find themselves trying to have that period of life they missed out on. Very oddly sheltered bunch

  17. Beauxcefus Says:

And yeah, for those who think some posters are just slagging on these tards… the pop music biz and the entertainment industry as a whole thrives off and seeks out its trends from YOUTH culture – the young, the slim, the superficial, the shallow, the plastic, the pretty is the engine that runs the industry. Don’t have to like it, but it is what it is. Those who haven’t been part of, or kept abreast of POP culture and its trends, those who fall out of a certain age demographic, those who don’t meet a certain arbitrary criteria based on looks, weight tend to be marginalized in the entertainment industry. Rock stars and classic rock acts and some alternative/AC oriented acts and their fans can get away with or get certain ‘passes’ for not subscribing to those drivers in pop culture. Those who don’t meet the ‘criteria’, but have smashed through via sales, (or made a ton of cash or garned a lot of publicity) like Adele, or have a song or album that just explodes or resonates in the mainstream or the media naturally get a ‘pass’.

David is not really classified as a ‘rock’ or ‘alternative’ act, he’s stll like a squirrel chasing a nut – looking for pop or mainstream related success, hoping it will help him cross over or break through into genres and onto other charts many feel he truly belongs. Until then, many are going to look at him, his music, his fans and judge them, rightly or wrongly, through that POP culture filter – and at present, both are falling a bit short.

That could all change with a smash hit, or better, much better sales, more publicity, but David doesn’t seem amenable to playing the game that many do to get him to that next level, so who knows. Coming from Idol carries not only a lingering stigma for the winner, but their fans as well. Most, rightly or wrongly, may have the dinero and passion to prop their fave up on the sales charts for a short time, then it becomes incumbent on the artist to produce and sing material that resonates to an audience outside of their core Idol base. If they aren’t able to do this, then they are stuck catering to an audience or fans in a demographic outside of the one desired/needed for breakthrough success. I say Cooktards and Glamberts et al should get used to the harping and snarking and commenting about shallow issues like appearance, age, weight, etc. It’s the nature of the pond they’ve chosen to swim in.

    • PiiiA Says:

Yes, I think we/they have got used to you being a shallow and malicious person concentrating on appearance, age, weight, etc. No need to write essays trying to justify your shallowness and venom.

      • freedavidcook Says:

Thank you Finland Tard for your ignorant opinion. Are you the one that flew from Finland to New York just to tard over the CD release?

I have a simple solution if you don’t like what I’m saying, just don’t visit. but then again you obviously can’t.

      • just dont get it Says:

like it or not, Beauxcefus is right! people in general are shallow. The promoters, record cos etc want to cater to young fans – and David is clearly lacking those. I am not trying to insult anyone, i think the majority of his fans are fantastic people, but they are not the target demographic.

    • freedavidcook Says:

VERY right on the money! I always get a huge kick when someone bucks those filters and has a huge smash, like when Cee Lo Green’s CD seemed to everywhere at once or when Susan Boyle kicked a certain glittery Idol’s butt when their CDs were released the same day. I remember reading an article at the time talking about those filters and how the business works. It went on to explain that music execs were trying to figure out how Susan had sold so many copies and if that could be duplicated again. What this article came up with was that the average Boyle buyer was over 40 with lots of disposable income, unlike a teen/20 something that usually drives the market. Sadly the music industry decided it was a one of and didn’t release anything else much for this demographic. In that way the music industry is very short-sided.

    • Black Angel Says:

Of course Beauxcefus is right. The music scene was always a shallow and youth oriented business. Always was and always will be. These old gals can complain all they want, but nothing is going to change. This is the reason Taylor Hicks is never going to be a music superstar. His soul patrol “thud” club is for over 40 and this spells disaster in the music business. His only hope is to go completely country because country is hot. Of course, his soul patrol will be pissed. I say good! Get rid of the old bats. Good riddance!

Adele is a success because of: 1) She is female, therefore she doesn’t have female fans who objectify her and turn her into a joke, 2) Her voice is amazing, 3) Her songs are amazing. End of story.

      • freedavidcook Says:

In the olden days there was a music genre for those over 40, it was known as ‘easy listening’ but the business seems to have phased that out. Tom Jones was the David Cook of his time, middle aged women acted like teenyboppers at his concert.

      • Black Angel Says:

At least middle-age women who go nuts at Tom Jones, Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow concerts stuck with entertainers who are in their demographic, but what is a 50-60 year old doing being a fangirl (pervert) of a 28 year old male singer? Again, it’s fine to like the music and attend a concert, but anything beyond that is highly inappropriate.

I blame “Hollywood” for the cougar phenomenon. When Demi Moore and Madonna can snag a young guy, these old ladies think they can too. But, unless you are beautiful like them, you don’t have a chance in hell. These women are completely delusional if they think they are the least bit attractive and that a 28 year old man would have anything to do with them and I bet most of them don’t own a mirror.

      • YoTaylor Says:

Taylor has found some great ways to get in front of new groups of fans this year, starting with Jam Cruise in January. The latest with jammers Jamie McLean & John Popper at the Brooklyn Bowl. http://youtu.be/4SfW90nASKc –Love to see the young, male bobbing heads in the video. The jamband musicians are older and Taylor fits in very well. Dave will have to find a similar way. They don’t need to be superstars.

    • Fluffy Says:

I don’t always agree with Beauxcefus but he/she is right here… it is what it is. Does that mean my not-20-not-thin-not-hot self can’t go to concerts? Of course not. But he doesn’t want to see me in the front row and at the meet ‘n’ greets time after time after time. I’m totally secure in myself and my looks and my flaws and also in that I’m not a 20 year old hot girl anymore 🙂 and that I’m not the desired demographic for these bands and singers. There are benefits to being older and wiser – you know, like knowing that I shouldn’t go stand in the front row for 40 shows and tell this young guy that I loooooooove him and stalk him and chase him down the road? Have some self-respect. Life doesn’t stop when you’re not young anymore. But it should be lived with a little more… decorum.

      • just dont get it Says:

you know what – the front row thing doesn’t really bother me that much as long as they are respectful, which at that age they should be. As long as it’s fair. Even though I’m sure David would like to see younger, different faces! It’s the multiple m&g’s and all the rest that is ridiculous!

      • Fluffy Says:

I don’t have any beef with wanting to be in the front row a time or two. But when you’re there every.single.show or multiple shows… I just don’t get it. And yeah, it’s the behavior more than the proximity.

      • nonna-muss Says:

I don’t always agree with Beaux either, but it’s sadly true what she says. I was reading an article today (only because it pertained to our conversation here, I swear!) that Joe Jonas’ new album sold only 18K copies the first week. It talked about how young listeners tastes change as they grow older.

    • 'NucksGal Says:

I have to agree with your assessment of the music industry. Why do you think there are so many huge stars out there who are young, look great, dance great but can’t sing worth sh*t & tons of auto tune. Their live shows suck because they have no talent beyond how they look.

I’m a fan because David Cook can sing. I love his voice. If he’s still making music when he’s old, I’ll probably still be listening. I love live music & am (I have to admit) a little jealous of those who get to see him live & do the m&g because I just can’t justify the expense.

If I had the $, I would go… to one. I have donated to his charity in the name of my friend’s son who had 6 tumours removed from his brain at 16 yrs old. Guess I could have spent the $ on a m&g but… Guess I could have put my name but I didn’t donate to win a prize so…

But when I look at the m&g pics, I think it would be cool to be there & meet a musician I enjoy so I’m not going to comment on anyone’s looks/weight/age. If I was there & you laughed at my size/looks… so what.

I know I’m rambling, sorry. But just because the music industry says you should be hot & young to sell records… I don’t think there’s an age/weight limit on buying them. Cash is good, fans are good, sales are good…

But 4 m&g’s? Stalking, fighting, freaking out, breaking camera-rules… even if the person doing it is a hot 21-yr old it’s wrong. Bad behavior is wrong no matter who does it. Are you allowed to be OTT & psycho if you’re young & sexy?

Sorry again for the speechifying. Try not to trip on my soapbox on the way out 😉

Ha! This is the happiest picture I’ve seen so far… Great energy – wonder why? 🙂

    • burt Says:

LOL! Love it. Flicked through those photos and he looks more animated all round – maybe a better mood or more time? Either way, good to see.

(And is it very wrong to say that I love his top? Wonder who it’s by? Surely a tard has found that out already. I wish I had more time to go digging!)

  19. PiiiA Says:

I do visit this site. I mostly just read. Occasionally the silliness and maliciousness reaches such proportions that I react.

I have never visited United States.

    • burt Says:

I thought you and FDC cleared up the whole “are you the Norway tard in NYC” at the time of the NYC events. I was sure that FDC worked out it was actually someone else she was thinking of. Maybe I’m remembering wrong?

      • freedavidcook Says:

I think the other one was the Norway tard that flew all this way but this is another one. There were a number that came over during the last tour. I would not be surprised if there are some coming over for this tour.

      • PiiiA Says:

I thought so too, but apparently not. If I had money I wouldn’t mind having a holiday trip to USA and having a David Cook concert as one of the attractions. Alas, I don’t have such money. But I’m proudly a Finland Tard. After all I have bought 2 of his CDs, so I certainly deserve the honorific! And I am old and fat so I fit right in. 🙂

      • PiiiA Says:

I was replying to Burt, by the way.

  20. Jen Says:

So Debra says it’s hard to believe she’s seeing David Cook tonight. How can it be hard to believe when it’s your fourth show? And you just went to one two days ago?

    • just dont get it Says:

i assume we will see yet another VIP pic of her as well.

    • nonna-muss Says:

Not only her 4th show, but her 4th out of the eight shows he’s done this tour. Technically she’s been to half the shows on tour so far and met him as many times. He’s got to be thinking how freaky it is. Personally I’d prefer the guys didn’t get back on the bus either making fun of me or totally creeped out by me. I guess that doesn’t bother her. Not to mention she’s being talked about (and snickered at) not only here at FDC but around the entire fandom. PM’s, DM’s and on some message boards right out in the open. I hope she’s thrilled with her infamy.

      • just dont get it Says:

I’m sure she looks at it as everyone just being jealous.

      • Jen Says:

I just don’t understand not having any self-awareness about it. RCAed specifically called out exactly that kind of behavior! How do you think he knew about it in the first place! I’m not sure why it bothers me so much but it does.

Oh, people other than here are talking about her? Do you have the inside track, Nonna? lol

      • nonna-muss Says:

I don’t have any inside track! I’m just seeing and reading. She’s not always named, but it’s implied since she’s the one going to these shows. I have received a couple of messages saying “Guess who was there again tonight”.

There is no self-awareness. Let’s face it, she’s gone to the Chris Evert tennis match, his Shadow Buddies golf tournament, etc. Clearly the woman has no shame.

      • Jen Says:

Hey, no judgement. I wish we had a mole on the inside – that’d be fun. lol

She’s had to fly to all of these shows too, except for Seattle!

    • nonna-muss Says:

Again? I love David, especially live, but it has to get a little monotonous, don’t you think? I could even see if he’s on the road for a year or more seeing him 4 or 5 times, but 4 out of eight shows? Just plain ol’ weird.

      • just dont get it Says:

you would think at her age she would be exhausted at this point!

      • Jen Says:

You know, I understand going to that many shows because usually when I see a show I love I immediately wish I could see one again, but that many M&Gs? That is ridiculous and embarrassing. How you can not think that it might be a little weird for David I just don’t understand.

      • Amusedbyfandom Says:

This reminds how during the Declaration tour, the uber tards like Jeri, Scott, John, Zoo, Daina etc. went to 20 shows or more and started bitching about David doing the same songs(duh!) all the time and picking apart his performances, stating that he needed to sing unreleased material or songs from Analog Heart ( a cd I love btw, but the general concert goer would know nothing about), the shows need to be longer, he needed to engage off stage with the fans more and on and on.

    • nicole Says:

  21. just dont get it Says:

whether she’s self-aware of not, I doubt she cares! again, i’m sure she thinks everyone is jealous of her! it’s hard for me to comprehend, but i guess she thinks he is glad to see her night after night?

  22. Jen Says:

I’m sure no one is surprised to hear that Debra is going to the Reno show and M&G tomorrow too. Not sure if she had VIP tonight.

  23. nicole Says:

seems that your friend Jeri is fretting over 1. having her picture taken when her VIP time comes along and 2. not being able to take pictures because of this evil camera ban.

    double standards, eh?

    • Amusedbyfandom Says:

Ha, what’s to fret over, isn’t she a sexy former rock groupie that any musician would want to be near? Hasn’t meet him dozens of time before? Stalking him at his mom’s charity event, Race for Hope and countless concerts during the Declaration tour. While I’m asking questions, lol, How the hell can you meet someone more than once?
You can only meet someone once then it’s what….hanging out with a friend? As if!!

Maybe she can tell him about her digusting fan fic.

      • nicole Says:

i don’t know how she looks like.

      • Jen Says:

Ha, because she knows she’ll be picked apart here. Someone suggested having the photographer take her picture with her own camera instead of his.

      • nonna-muss Says:

Doesn’t she know that if you do the crime, you do the time. If she didn’t have her behavior to be embarrassed about she would have no fears. She dug her own grave when she pulled her crazy antics. Fanfic, going all over the country to see him and writing her manifesto about the weeds and roses. Telling everyone how she clothed, housed and fed him, as if he’d be back bartending if it wasn’t for her and her little group of stalker friends.

      • Jen Says:

The manifesto is what put her on the map I think. See, it’s okay if it’s HER outing behavior she doesn’t like but it’s not okay if it’s someone doing it to her.

      • Is this famous weeds/roses rant still out there or did it conveniently disappear? Heard of it but never read the thing. Have never followed this Jeri person.

      • nonna-muss Says:

I think it disappeared when Andrew tweeted that it was “funny stuff”. Maybe FDC saved it for posterity.

      • Jen Says:

Yeah it definitely disappeared (though I don’t think Andrew’s tweet had anything to do with it), but I have a copy if FDC doesn’t.

      • freedavidcook Says:

I don’t have a copy. I did post and comment on it here but no copy. She’s hard to keep up with because of all the name changes online.

    • 'NucksGal Says:

I was thinking about these stories & wondering what I would even say to him if I went to one m&g. Same old boring platitudes about liking the album, cool to meet them blah blah (like he doesn’t hear it 50x a day).

So what the heck do you say at your 4th (8th, 20th, 3769th) m&g. He’s still a total stranger (no matter what they think) & the small-talk must become painful to get through. No wonder they look bored & slightly dazed in the pics.

  24. cooktardx10sansdelusions Says:

K I was at Boise and Seattle. The experiences could NOT have been more different. With only 13 peeps in Boise it was unreal how great it was – acoustic “sound check” j- ust fantastic then nice friendly little Q & A with LOTS of opps for both official pics as well as the goofier ones too- I actually got David to take one of him “choking” me with my own scarf – it was meant to send a message to the fandom if you know what I mean – too bad Wade wouldn’t/couldn’t use it as the official version. So yeah – Boise = WIN.

Seattle was a totally different trip. Lots more tards in attendance (sigh) yes I know I am a tard too – pls don’t remind me! But I do go out of my way TO a) stay under the radar and b) to not engage any of the others who I may possibly recognize…I just don’t care I guess. I am David’s fan, but NOT a fan of his fandom, I guess. Having said that, I did spot Debrakay though…all I could think of was, why why why???? It bothered me considerably that I was seeing Dave twice in a row and actually told him how crappy I felt about it, as in sorry, buddy, but this is our ‘last goodbye’ – no offense, I mean – I love him as a self-professed “cooktard”, but twice in two nights????

Uhhhh overkill I would say….And he was so OFF during Seattle soundcheck, only 2 songs, completely disengaged from the audience, perfunctory pics afterwards, yes he did perk up for some fans, but then was kinda flat during the show, no encore, meh, really a let down for me as a fan. No clue if Debrakay horned in on him for the after show M&G for what is that the eleventy-billionth time already? Cuz I was long gone by that point. I won’t lie, I wish him well, but really didn’t need the letdown that Seattle was after Boise. As a fan, it was a major downer, seeing him “on” one night and then so “off” the next. My own fault though right?

    • Amusedbyfandom Says:

Ummm….no I don’t know what you mean with the “choking ” thing. As a semi-tard, that might have gone over my head, lol.

But…anyway, I would say Cooktardx10, dude’s a real human being. Being “off” happens (and he’s been sick). You got one great show and M&G experience and one not so great.

Not getting the guilt about going to a couple of concerts much less mentioning it to him. If you go, have a good time and don’t act like a tard, he wouldn’t even know you were there right? Did you do both M&Gs?

I wasn’t there of course and your perception is certainly valid but the YT’s of the Seattle show didn’t look like a horrible show to me. Read some good recaps from other fans. *shrug*
