David Cook’s NYC Concert & Assorted Tards.

Well it looks like Earring Lady – IloveDCYES – is having some sort to tard DTs – Delirious Tremors – after her M&G with Cook. She posted –

Just woke up…with tears! The show Sat. was SO great, meeting whole band was a dream, and I miss them all so darnn much…especially David…it hurts! The way he affects his fans is the stuff to write a book about…missing him like this after a show is par for the course, and I only hope and pray that he will go overseas and give his fans all over the world what he has given us here in the USA! DAVID is so special, and so awesome, and there just are not words good enough to desribe him fully…tears are splashing on my keyboard….

I LOVE DAVID COOK, Andrew, and the band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is the best singer on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMO

Attention lady – I think big pharma makes a pill for that, possibly one with a sad blue bean hopping around or a black hole following a cartoon lady. Seriously.

Here’s her photo at the M&G. Makes me want to shout “Run Baldy RuN” or “It rubs the lotion into its skin or it gets the hose”

I see she’s changed her hair, grown it out, since the last tour. Notice how it seems her upper body is leaning towards Cook yet he looks like his body is recoiling from her while he wears his pasted on same in every photo smile. At least she’s not trying to lick the back of his knee I guess.

Beached.. er Becky/Bleed_into_you, she of the shit talking about Cook is neglecting his dog while on tour and says a whole bunch of negative almost hateful stuff about Cook and especially about Andrew his brother, also did take in a show and do a M&G.

Disgusting. The shit talker is snuggling up to him like they’re BFF instead of the trash she talks behind his back.

This weekend should be fun. Or at least the New York City show will be a hoot for us. Zander Bleck (same first name as L. Anne Carrington’s fake fiance) former model will also be on the bill. He looks a lot like human walking STD Constantine Maroulis from American Idol but not as greasy.

That Irving Plaza show is going to be a hoot because most of the VIP section and non-tards at the show are rumored to be Glamazon model-types. It’s one of their apparent hang outs. Battle of the 6 foot 100 pound women against the middle aged delusional plumpers. A night to remember! ha! If the tards complain it’s likely they’ll be booted instead of the C-list celeb models bringing in the drunk guys with Am Ex Gold cards to fund their drinking the expensive booze.

Also the pre-show camping out by tards is going to be funny too. They’re likely to be pestered all the live long day by the local dope heads because the Irving Plaza venue is very very near the 14th Street Methadone clinic. It has all the earmarks of a greased goat rodeo even if model-boinker Constantine doesn’t show up. I wish I was going to be a fly on the wall of this confloption! Good times!

Ohhhh, I can’t wait!! Is it Friday yet?! lol

And every time I see that pic of Becky, I want to vomit. I want to slap that stupid smile off her face and yell to David, “she’s the one who said you were a bad dog owner!!!” Seriously, that kind of hug should be reserved for a REAL fan, not some bitchy, two-faced tard who can’t even afford a M&G!!

    Ok, rant over πŸ˜‰

    • AmyB Says:

That Becky bitch makes me sick. The way she talks about David and Andrew then acts like she’s his BFF. I wonder if he’s aware that she’s the one?

    • Nist Says:

Two-faced is right. Rude Tard, thy name is Becky.

And I know people here had talked about the bulge/PANTZ thing, but I hadn’t seen that type of talk in a while. While looking at NotTheDavidCook’s timeline, I saw that CookieNookie and Amanda (Roxybella_Manda) are still at it, tweeting zoomed-in photos they just took at recent concerts, titled “no comment” and “Love his peek-a-boo”. As NotTheDavidCook wrote: “Never seen a dick before? THIS is the crap that adult women talk about re: @thedavidcook”

I actually saw a comment about CookieNookie’s photo that said: “Congrats to Pantz Manager. You win at life.” 😦 So gross/immature – AND two-faced, since she was in David’s face at five VIPs this tour.

      • JennPaz Says:

Yeah, I saw those pics. No wonder David doesn’t like cameras very much…

And I saw where that Amanda chick tweeted to that crew member (I think his twitter handle is JustCallMeKato) something about meeting up on Friday and partying after the show. Funny, I don’t think he responded!

      • Karen D Says:

I think Cookienookie has only done maybe 2 VIPs. I don’t even think she’s been to 5 shows.

      • Nist Says:

Sorry I didn’t make myself clear. I was talking about dammit_david, who was the person I quoted (“pantz Manager”) commenting on CookieNookie’s photos. She’s been to five VIPs and six shows.

    • AmyB Says:

I would love to get the chance to meet him. Let alone get a hug like that. She doesn’t deserve that hug.

    • Jen Says:

That pisses me off so bad. Fans that aren’t fucking psychotic don’t get that opportunity but she who talks shit about Andrew and David and Kira gets something like that. He probably knows it’s her who said the shit about his dog too and she just doesn’t care.

  2. Nist Says:

Just posted the following on the last thread while you were posting your new entry, FDC:

Ooh, someone (don’t know who) apparently got kicked out of soundcheck today for breaking rules, according to the twitter of someone who was at VIP. HA-HAH! Guess they’re sending a warning to the Irving Plaza tards.

    The tweet:
They’re serious about no camera in SC – kicked someone out for real!!

Friday: Irving Plaza = East Coast tards
Saturday: Las Vegas Hard Rock = West Coast tards.

    Interesting weekend!

    • AmyB Says:

Love it that they kicked someone out. What part of no camera’s do these people not get? Do they think the rules don’t apply to them? I actually think some of the west coast tards are going to the NY show. I think Mbenz might be going to both not real sure. I think she might be worse then DebraKay when it comes to going to shows. She seems to fly all over the place to see him. I can almost bet when and if he goes to Europe she will be at some of those shows as well.

      • Nist Says:

Mbenz01 is so funny (in a tragic kind of way). She swore up and down when the tour started that she was only going to the three Texas shows “and maybe Tulsa”. Then bit by bit, she just kept adding show after show after show. Some of them seemed really last minute so unless she’s got some heavy frequent-flier miles to redeem, those flights probably cost a bit of money.

      • Karen D Says:

And she walks in as if she owns the place. Like she’s his BFF and should get special treatment. Total bitch.

    • JennPaz Says:

I still want to know what these ladies do for a living to be able to afford all these flights, hotels, concerts and M&Gs. Not to mention being able to take that much time off. Unless, of course, they married sugar daddies who don’t really give a crap about what their wives are doing.

      • riley Says:

The husbands probably don’t care that they go because it means they can cheat in peace. Yes I went there, but aren’t these women emotionally cheating on their husbands when they fantasize over Cook? I crush is one thing but these women are well beyond that.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

They have secret credit cards hubby knows nothing about. They use mortgage payments to fund it. It will all come crashing down when the bank comes a’calling.

    • nonna-muss Says:

I was there. Andrew couldn’t have made it any more clear while we were in line outside. We were inside and two words into the first song up went her camera. Andrew was on her like white on rice. She argued with him and a UNIFORMED (like a cop) security guard came and made her leave. The venue has two kind of security, t-shirts and dressed like cops. She gave Andrew one hell of a time though. I didn’t recognize her.

      • songkat7 Says:

Did it interrupt the song? Any other fun tidbits you witnessed?

      • nonna-muss Says:

Only for anyone around her. We were near her so it interrupted it for us. Entitled tards in action.

      • nonna-muss Says:

I saw this on Andrew’s timeline about last night. This girl isn’t a tard, just a girl who lives near the venue and is a fan.

Almost feel like I should be refunded or comped a Meet n Greet for Friday since I was so rushed through it tonight @MrAndrewCook

Make up for the ridiculousness that was my rushed through VIP experience. @MrAndrewCook

I have to say, I went there with no expectations and figured I couldn’t be disappointed. I was. What a waste of $75. Never, ever again. After VIP we went back outside to line up for doors (only a 20 minute or so wait) and there were people that were not tards, first show, first meet and greet saying they’d never go to one of his concerts again because of the VIP experience. They said they didn’t know why we were called VIP’s when we were made to feel more like an intrusion on their time. I thought David and the band seemed nice and none of them made me feel like an intrusion. It was the process itself and Andrew and the tour manager that made you feel like you were nothing but a giant pain in their asses. We paid for t-shirt, sound check and picture. We were told we weren’t getting the t-shirts and basically got a whopping 20-30 seconds in the meet and greet. Which is fine, but while you’re trying to say hi and move down the line, it would be a lot nicer if someone wasn’t standing there telling you to hurry the entire time. To me it was basically a “Please deposit $75 and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.”

There was also a girl who did VIP earlier in the tour when Wade was still doing it and she said the difference was night and day. She said that if she had had last night’s experience first, she wouldn’t have done it a second time. She said the difference in the way we were treated last night compared to her other experience was astounding and she felt bad for those of us who only had this one opportunity.

I’ll stop complaining. I never thought I’d have anything to complain about, like I said, I didn’t have any expectations. Perhaps I did. I guess I expected to get treated like a paying customer. I’ve been treated nicer by a pimply faced kid at McDonald’s making minimum wage.

      • nonna-muss Says:

This is what my friend and I decided VIP was like last night.

      • just dont get it Says:

That stinks Nonna-muss! I was at the show last night but did not do VIP and I thought the show was pretty incredible. How do they not have that t-shirts? Are they going to mail them to you or something?

      • Jen Says:

That’s too bad, nonna. I can’t say that was my experience but this is why I think there need to be more limitations on how many can do them. These northeast shows must have been full so it’s basically impossible to do 100 people in 2 hours without being rushed through. I can’t speak to how you were treated though, obviously, since Andrew (my crush notwithstanding) and the tour manager weren’t like that at my show.

      • sansdelusions Says:

Oh Nonna sounds like your VIP really sucked! How many peeps were there in total would you say? Was there an after M&G too? I wonder if part of it is due to general burnout on David’s part and Andrew trying to protect him. I mean okay last nite was show #35 of the tour, so figure he’s having to be nice to what say an average of 50 peeps per show (x 2 maybe with before and after) so 100 x 35 lets say- 3500 peeps and of those hmm, maybe 100 hardcore tards doing multiples, so that’s a fair number of hugs and gropes and tacky gifts and props he has to endure. But I digress, sorry.

See the thing about Wade is he works for Groundcontrol and while that company has a LOT of issues (don’t get me started), I will say Wade wasn’t one of them, he’s just as pleasant and professional as can be (nice to everyone (yes even the tardiest tards) – but he doesn’t work for David per se – whereas Andrew obviously does. Maybe Andrew is just fed up with the whole thing – I dunno.

I am not making excuses for him/them BTW – it really bites that you got treated that way and I can see it not being worth that kind of money and kind of leaving a bad overall impression.

But the concert itself was good? Lots of peeps? Good crowd? Do tell!

      • Black Angel Says:

That sucks nonna-muss! Nothing bothers me more than not getting what I paid for.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

This is what happens when the budget gets cut and they have to employ family. Things will only get worse as his career dies even more. Soon to be seen opening department stores and doing appearances with Constantine. Oh wait, he is already doing appearances with Constantine the unemployed walking STD πŸ˜† They can do Branson together.

      • Ali Says:

Sorry your experience sucked Nonna. And you are a real fan, so it’s tragic…then those tards are all over him, night after night!

      • Karen D Says:

Yes, they are sending the tshirts out when they get them to people in the last few VIPs. This wasn’t the only show that didn’t have them.

  3. sansdelusions Says:

Apparently iLoveDCyes did not get the experience she imagined…. This just in from DCO:

“My first VIP was Clifton Park….and I did not expect to be nervous, did not feel nervous. But when it was my turn, I went to Kyle first, then Monty quickly, and David. I rushed myself, nobobdy rushed me, but there were almost 100 people in line and I was one of the first 20 or so…Anyway, I had 2 things to show him which took about 25 seconds, I gave him something quicklly and then I froze….I hardly even looked at him! Stupid me! I forgot to tell him how much I love TLM…I just sensed that I should rush, maybe he was not feeling so hot, and I even forgot to give him a hug….or thought that I shouldn’t. So, yes, I was very disappointed in myself, but not him. I think that people DO expect too much sometimes….He cannot be all bubbly and perfect all the time, and I think it just happens. I met him over 2 years ago, but it was not VIP, it was out shopping, and I went over to him and he gave me 10 minutes to blab my head off and I got the best hug of my life then. That was perfect. But Sat. was not…”

Note to IloveDCyes: Yeah I guess if you wasted his time for 10 whole minutes, yeah, he might remember you …. And not want a repeat!

    • Ali Says:

Wow, don’t know what to say about all these tards and there vip experience or lack there of lol…I’m sure this weekend will be “epic” as the tards like to over use that word haha.

No idea why anyone would spend so much money, especially when it seems a hardship for many of the tards, for a guy they don’t even know lol! Oh wait…he’s there bff πŸ˜€

      • l Says:

.Ali – PLEASE learn the difference between they’re, their, and there. It drives me nuts every time I read your posts.

      • Ali Says:

Lol, I’ll use the excuse many do here “I says”.. English is my second language πŸ™‚ Feel free to correct anything you see wrong in my grammar, that way I can learn the proper usage. K. Thanks.

  4. Jen Says:

Someone tweeted to Andrew asking why the NYC VIP doesn’t include a M&G and photo. Anyone hear anything about that?

    • nonna-muss Says:

No! That should cause a mini-riot.

      • Jen Says:

The person might be mistaken because Irving Plaza sells their own “VIP” tickets I think that are just reserved seats in the balcony but it would be really funny to me if it were true.

  5. Jen Says:

So apparently VIPs are no longer allowed preferred entry to these shows because too many were getting after show M&G’s too. You can blame that on Kristen and Jules since the instructions on how to do it that I saw on twitter started “this is how Kristen and Jules do it…” Becky too I’d imagine. Cook fandom can never have nice things it seems. The same people ruin it over and over again.

    • sansdelusions Says:

I will never understand WHY these tards first spend $75 for the VIP/M&G pkg which okay includes soundcheck and a few freebies and meeting the entire band – thats fine, but then ALSO fork over yet another $45 to see him again like 2 hours later, on top of which, they repeat this pattern OVER and OVER and OVER again. It’s just mind-boggling… I saw him twice this tour and yes (cringing) had 2 VIPs (which yes, was one too many) – but it never even crossed my mind to pay out yet MORE money buying crap I didn’t need just to say hi to a guy I already said “hi” to 2 hours earlier- its just insanity! And I consider myself to be a pretty hardcore fan, but obviously I’m just a “lightweight” in the tard department, both literally and figuratively… Heh.

      • nonna-muss Says:

They should have enacted that rule long ago. There’s only three shows left on the tour.

      • Nist Says:

They pay to go to the after M&G because it’s the closest thing to talking to David alone, plus they can now get a pic with just him and them – no band (and earlier a pic with David and Gavin). Look at all of the pics-not just Becky’s-of tards with their arms wrapped around David (and his arms wrapped around theirs, it must be noted. He could say no if he wanted to, but he doesn’t.). They can pretend that David is their friend. Last night somebody bought him a beer and brought it to the M&G and he accepted it and had a few sips. Another tard filmed this and put it on YouTube. Tard points.

They’ll go as many times as they can if they can get that experience once or more than once. It increases their standing in the tard world. Look at the tweets from Jas5809 to Becky /bleed_into_one about Becky’s new avi:

@bleed_into_one It is adorable. He loves you ❀

@bleed_into_one Hell yes. We all would love a pic like that, but only if honest. I can tell this one is.

From what I've heard, David is almost always pretty cheerful (probably tipsy ha) in these after show M&Gs as opposed to the pre-show ones, where the outcome can be more unpredictable. That also adds to the appeal.

      • WilcoisAwesome Says:

sansdelusions – don’t you know? They buy the after show M&G items to give as gifts for Christmas! That’s the only reason they do them!

    • songkat7 Says:

I have a feeling future legs of the tour (if there are any) will be very different.

I do know that it’s hard to manage some of this over-exposure that the tards have now that VIPs are the way to go with concerts – RCAEd told me as much. I’m so sorry, Nonna, that you had a bad experience. I’m also sorry that those overinvested cows have ruined yet another thing for everyone. Having preferred entry as part of my VIP was really nice.

Although with some of those tards, they elbow their way up to the front anyway, so preferred entry doesn’t help everyone anymore.

      • Jen Says:

Yeah, I have a feeling this was all experimental to see how it would all work out. Maybe next time they can, you know, actually advertize the VIPs so other people can know about it in the first place. I’m still a little surprised that no limitations were ever put in place since RCAEd himself mentioned them.

      • songkat7 Says:

I got the impression from what Ed told me that it was difficult to limit who gets in. Although, we know that’s not true since other bands do it, so maybe there was a limitation as to what was available for RCA (or whomever) to manage with this – maybe they didn’t want to pay more for organzing VIPs that were a little more fine-tuned. Maybe the more exclusive VIPs cost more to run? I don’t know.

      • burt Says:

What I don’t understand is that RCA/his management have surely arranged these kind of M&Gs/VIP packages hundreds of time for their other artists. They should already know how it would be best arranged and what limitations should be in place. I don’t get it at all – these people are meant to be experts and advisers so how has it all gone so wrong? I know there are the tards but really, everyone has the crazy fans that need controlling so that’s no excuse.

I’m sorry your experience sucked Nonna. It’s making me think that if I ever get the chance, I won’t be doing it – I was unsure about the whole paying to meet someone thing anyway (because a lot of people I like will take pictures/sign autographs for free) but when there’s no way to know how pleasant or rushed it will be, plus the whole merchandise issue, I just don’t see that it’s worth the risk. Sucks for everyone having that experience, especially new fans. *IF* Andrew is the changing factor in this then it sounds like having him around isn’t such a good idea – fans shouldn’t come away feeling like crap. David must also pick up on how rushed it is, he’s not stupid and doesn’t like to rip off fans.

Also, someone mentioned David being “burnt out” and Andrew helping with that. I mentioned this on the last post – is David really burnt out? Not to be unsympathetic but I don’t see why he would be. The tour seems to have been OK paced, there have been days off, he’s apparently seen family & friends and been close to home a couple of times. It’s not been a long tour, he loves being on the road and access to the hardcore tards seems to have been limited to M&Gs (yes, not ideal to see them time and time again but at least they’re not hanging around the bus) so why would he be burnt out?

Sorry to go on but I just don’t understand it – it makes no sense to me. Maybe that’s just me, but the whole thing seems really strange.

Also, did anyone see the RCA competition that was announced a few days ago and notice the usual suspects entering? As if they they don’t have enough signed stuff – some were even saying, “I have a signed CD but may as well try to get another”. Yet another example where other fans have their chances limited. So unnecessary.

      • Nist Says:

I’m also sorry that you had a bad experience, Nonna. Especially since you went in with an open mind and no expectations.

I think there may be something to keeping costs low by using Ground Control instead of another company. There are organizations other than Ground Control which do VIPs, like VIP Nation. Based on VIP Nation’s clients (Prince, Sting, the Eagles, Neil Diamond, New Kids/Backstreet Boys), I would bet theirs are run better. But it probably costs more for an artist to hire them.

Then again, it’s interesting that David Archuleta is using VIP Nation and not Ground Control for his VIPs on his Christmas tour. I wonder what the experience has been like for those attending his version of VIP.

Also wonder if Andrew is actually a Ground Control employee/contractor or if he’s working for David and GC is just handling the payments/merch. If he doesn’t have to report to ground control (and I’m guessing it’s likely that Jody the tour manager doesn’t have to either) it could make for a different experience than the one with Wade.

      • sansdelusions Says:

Burt – it was me who was speculating that Cook might be burning out and really its just a theory, I mean what do I know besides nothing! But I didn’t mean it in the sense of being tired of touring or even tired of fans at all – only maybe in the context of how these M&Gs are going and what the fans are demanding of him. Maybe its just getting to him – maybe its not, although I think that in this latter part of the tour – since Andrew got involved – things have moved along at a much brisker pace – a bit less personalized maybe, more wham, bam, thankyou ma’am rather than just meandering along. I could be wrong though. I can only speak to the 2 VIPs I attended. One was MUCH better than the other, yet neither was rushed, or disappointing.

      • Jen Says:

I also think you have to account for which shows Andrew has been on for. He wasn’t on the Boise show (was it that one?) with 15 VIPs. He’s on the Northeast dates that have tons of them. Those have to move at a brisker pace. And look, I’m not saying that David’s about to slit his wrists or something, but if we’re allowed to get bent out of shape by these people he certainly is too.

      • JennPaz Says:

And plus, it has to be a bit taxing meeting so many people in one night. Especially when those people know pretty much everything about you, yet you know nothing about them. It just has to be a little intimidating, imo.

    • burt Says:

I do wonder why, yet again, the actions of the uber tards are allowed to outweigh what is best for the casual fans. There are far more casual fans than “dedicated”, they and new fans are the ones he needs to keep so why are they the ones who will come away pissed and not really understanding why they are doing things as they are? It’s the same with the list of rules that are being given at M&Gs, his use of Twitter (if what someone said here is true) and countless other examples.

I’m not saying changes don’t need to be made or that he needs to piss off the dedicated fans (I think he needs those too) but it seems counterproductive to piss off so many other fans who don’t deserve it while trying to control the behavior of a few when he needs them to keep his career going. Not everyone acts like those few (I don’t think many new fans would even consider it) but it sounds like everyone is being treated as if they will.

By the way, I’m looking forward to tales from this weekend. *evil laugh*

  6. Jen Says:

Um. So Becky’s friends are assuring her that they can’t think of any reason that David would not like her. …are you kidding though?

    • songkat7 Says:

How many reasons? I think I need a calculator to figure it out…

      • Jen Says:

I just don’t get it. You know they alllll know about his kiss it comment to the dog criticism. Being that I’m not in junior high anymore I can’t be bothered to blow smoke up somebody’s ass like that anymore.

      • burt Says:

I absolutely cannot believe that photo. Really, truly can’t. David really should know who these people are so he doesn’t end up in that situation – makes him look like a fool. I’m not even going to mention how it makes her look. Wow.

  7. JennPaz Says:

Speaking of that Kristin chick… according to her twitter, she has gone to 14 Cook shows this year, including the Race for Hope and that Petpalooza thing in Vegas. Seriously? 14?? I haven’t even seen my favorite band that many times, and I’ve been going to their concerts since 1998!!

And to echo what others have been saying… I also don’t get why someone would do the pre-show M&G and then the after show one all in the same night. What else could you possibly say to the man? Plus, it’s not really fair to other fans when the tards hog up all the M&Gs… I just can’t fathom any of it. Again, they think his their BFF when really, he isn’t. And he can’t say anything to them about it, for fear of hurting their feelings and losing them as “fans.” But if I were him, I’d much rather have “sane” fans then these crazies any day!

One last thing… why are people talking as if this is David’s last tour ever? I highly doubt that it is…

    • just dont get it Says:

I personally would feel weird going up to him twice in one day myself. It’s hard enough to have something to say ONE TIME! But that’s just me.

    • Rubber Ducky Says:

why are people talking as if this is David’s last tour ever?

Album is a dud, RCA are probably going to drop him in the new year. Anything after this will be self funded (bet he turns to Kickstarter πŸ˜† ) and any tours after this will be via van doing a pub crawl around his house πŸ˜†

      • songkat7 Says:

People are over-speculating based on David’s remarks lately, nothing more.

      • JennPaz Says:

Oh, Rubber Ducky…. your cynicism is epic! lol

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

Realism is what it’s called. Look at ALL the previous contestants, especially the males. This has happened many times over and will again.

      • 'NucksGal Says:

I saw a post or tweet somewhere (as I read very few DC blogs other than this one, maybe it was here?) that David was leaving RCA for “Simon Fuller’s” record company.

Can’t remember the name of the company & never heard anything else about it so it may not be true. I didn’t even know Fuller had a record company.

Makes sense that he would complete the booked dates for this tour but not book more. Then new mgmt would take over booking new dates for the next leg??

So everything, including m&g etc, may change.

I’m still hoping that he’ll book near my home so I can see him live. And I would still pay for a m&g (if I can afford) tho I’m sad to hear about the varied experiences.

Anyway, that’s all I know. And it may all be rumours or bs?

      • JennPaz Says:

NucksGal: I think David just changed management companies. He went from 19 Entertainment to Fuller’s XIX. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how the change in management will effect him, if at all. But I still think he’s going to keep Michelle (or whatever her name is) as his manager…

      • 'NucksGal Says:

So what’s the difference between 19 & XIX & which is RCA or both? I know nothing about the music industry so can’t really follow. And who is Ground Control? Are they part of RCA or 19?

      • JennPaz Says:

RCA is the record company. 19 Entertainment and XIX are both management/entertainment agencies. So I think when one wins Idol, they get a record deal at RCA and also representation from 19 Entertainment. Simon Fuller used to be associated with 19, but then went and formed his own company, XIX. And for whatever reason, David switched from 19 to XIX (which is rather confusing since XIX is 19 in roman numerals! lol). So, RCA puts out David’s albums and XIX manages him and guides his career. As far as Ground Control, I think they are just a company that works with artists’ and handles M&Gs, VIPS and stuff like that… kind of like a fan club almost. I’m pretty sure Ground Control is separate from RCA and XIX.

At least that’s my understanding of how it all works! I could be totally wrong about everything, and if I am, somebody please correct me!

      • 'NucksGal Says:

        Thanks JennPaz.

I didn’t realize that he (& many others I assume) had both mgmt & record company. Thought they were same thing so that’s why I got confused.

Makes more sense now. So he’s still with RCA but new mgmt. Got it.

    • AmyB Says:

No he’s not their BFF He’s their BF or Boy Friend. I can’t stand when someone calls him that. The only person that has the right to do that is his actual girlfriend.

      • JennPaz Says:

Not to be mean, but I highly doubt someone like Becky or Kristin are his type!! And you’re not the only one who can’t stand when they refer to him as their boyfriend…whatever, tards. As Steven Tyler sang, “dream on.”

  8. neenee Says:

I did two VIPs (one fairly reluctantly). The 2nd one I did because it was GA and I wanted a got spot for the show. To me, this is the only real attraction of VIP, preferred entrance/seating. Don’t really care about meeting Dave more than once and the band. They’re nice and all, but honestly what is there to say? They don’t know me, I don’t know them.

  9. Beauxcefus Says:

Found out from a David Archuleta fan on Yes.com who has done several VIP’s, most recent one last week in NYC at his Irving Plaza show :

    – His VIP’s are $195.00 (wowza) for his Christmas tour. He has offered them before on his tour w/Demi Lovato, his solo tour, and on his Asian tour (s) via ILove Access. ILA and VIP Nation merged, are known now as VIP Nation.

    – They tend to sell very well, with multiple venues selling out. Cap is usually 100 people. VIP Nation got hi marks for coordination, orderliness of process, their professionalism, courtesy to fans.

    – Fans tend to be respectful of David A, well behaved w/the occasional bad behavior, not a lot of rudeness to Vip Nation or David.

    – They have similar issues w/fans taping/posting of VIP.

Here is his VIP package… How does it compare w/the one David C offers?

    Meet & Greet Package ($195.00)

    • Rubber Ducky Says:

He must be too old for pedofrau now.

    • JennPaz Says:

I’m pretty sure David C.’s VIP package did not include a ticket to the show. Just the M&G, photo and other goodies.

Plus, I think the big difference is the tards don’t seem to be neither respectful of Cook nor well-behaved! lol Actually, it sounds like Archie’s M&G package is a pretty good deal. Maybe Cook should switch to VIP Nation? And then limit to how many each person can do per tour.

Somebody get Cook on the phone. I’ll get his career back on track! πŸ˜‰

      • sansdelusions Says:

David’s VIP definitely did NOT include the price of admission to the actual show. That was separate. Also, it did not necessarily include a free pass to the head of the line for VIPers after soundcheck and M&G – apparently this was up to the discretion of the venue as to what to do with the “special” folk – tho from what I have seen, most venues did in fact give the VIP’ers some kind of break to get “firsties” into the venue – but no guarantees.

      • Jen Says:

I know someone who won passes to an Archie M&G and if I recall correctly it was literally just time for a photo that included everyone in your party.

I liked Cook’s for the sound check more than anything, though my sound check wasn’t that special except that they did a couple songs that they didn’t do in the concert.

  10. nicole Says:

multiple VIPs tick me off. what do they do with the merch they’ve accumulated? and now those who are attending the shows for the first time get the short end of the deal because the merch has run out.

    it’s just so selfish.

and it’s very delusional to actually think you and ‘dave’ are bffs if you have to PAY for facetime.

    ayayay these people.

    • JennPaz Says:

I think roxybella_manda gave some of her extra stuff away via Twitter. She did a contest or something… like she’s a freakin’ radio station! lol

  11. AmyB Says:

NyCarole426 is crying on twitter to David and a few others that the guard took her gift for him. I wonder why he took it? Does anyone know if they took anyone elses?

    • Karen D Says:

She was at the VIP, why didn’t she give it to him then? The guards don’t take the gifts before they get to him!

      • AmyB Says:

I have no clue. She’s the only one I seen say anything about it. Or at least anything about it and use his name in the tweets. If they did it for anyone else I have no idea. Never been to a VIP so not sure how it’s done.

  12. Plenty of fretting going on in the chat window during tonight’s ustream–NyCArole
all in a twitter about Dave announcing that the tour wasn’t “done, done” just done for the year.

With the news that Hell & Highwater have cancelled their tour, they seem to be specualting about what will happen to Neal — and will he come back –and what about Devin as he seems to now be the golden boy.

    From ustream:

follias I think Devin has brought something great to the mood of the band, and the music.

rrprieto: Devon gets Dave LOOSE and brings out MORE in him!!

Devon has personality and talent! (live at http://ustre.am/ro2j)

rrprieto: Devon gets Dave LOOSE and brings out MORE in him!! (live at http://ustre.am/ro2j)

QTTaquito @socooked: Agree. Don’t think Dave has ever been in a shell. Devin interacts more than NT. Rest is same Dave.

Rt Leg action woot! (live at http://ustre.am/ro2j)

What on earth makes them think just because Neal doesn’t have a gig at the moment that this must mean he will try and come back and send Devin packing? This is how stories get started, I guess.

    What idiots.

    • AmyB Says:

You have to of noticed where it was all coming from. I love how they think David is reading the ustream. They actually talk to him turing it. Not like he’s on stage or anything.

    • WilcoisAwesome Says:

I think HOH calling off the rest of the tour has more do with whom they were touring with: Madina Lake and Me Talk Pretty. Madina Lake had to unexpectedly pull out due to a random court date that popped up (if you don’t know – Matthew Leone of ML helped save a woman from getting beaten by her husband/boyfriend over the summer, and in the process got beat up really badly himself- brain trauma and everything. He’s going to be testifying in court against the guy for the trial I believe). Don’t quote me but I am pretty sure ML is the headliner of that tour and had the bigger draw of the three bands, so maybe they just thought it was better to pull the plug now due to the above factor and maybe other mitigating factors (afterall, venues don’t want to host bands that won’t draw because they’re losing money).

      • WilcoisAwesome Says:

Correction – Madina Lake only pulled out for a week of shows, they rejoin the tour in Tulsa. Why HOH didn’t soldier on is beyond me.

  13. Beauxcefus Says:

Why do grown ass women still spend money on stupid gifts for a RICH grown ass man? Feels like insecure women/girls trying to buy the attention/affection of a man who ordinarily wouldn’t give them the time of day. Same thing goes for those who spend oodles to see him over and over again in concert, and in VIP. They can do what they want w/their money, but damn – What do they think is going to change from concert to concert? He sings basically the same songs, the same covers, poses in VIP the same way. And STILL they carry on, in the hope they’ll get some kind of special notice. SMH. You know you lead a pretty sad life if your only validation or attention comes from relative strangers on internet fan boards, social networks, and singers you saw (and think you ‘know’) on a musical themed reality show.

He’s in kinda a bad, Catch-22 place. Cook and Co. will keep taking their money, milking these tards dry and giving them his proverbial ass to kiss because these women/tards allow them to do it. He has no other support base beyond the grandfathered in Idol base, which makes him probably take a lot of shit from them he wouldn’t if he were in a different position. It’s like a weird, codependent relationship between strangers. IMO, He may never get into different position if he doesn’t start finding a way to make singles and CD’s that appeal and sell more broadly in the mainstream. As an Idol winner, it’s almost what they are expected (pesky expectations) to do. David and some fans IMO need to disabuse themselves of the notion that he can continue making the kind of music HE wants to make, whether it sells or not… Such romantic notions have no place in this business – if you want to remain a signed recording artist on a major label. I can’t prove it, have no empirical data to back it up, but I just feel in my gut that sales expectations for Idol winners are different to some of these suits at these labels, due to the high level of name recognition and exposure they already have coming in, compared to what is called a ‘new’ artist. He hit a major career snag w/this CD’s era CD that is not unrecoverable, but if he cannot sell his music, get radio to play it or attract an audience beyond the one he has now…. *shrugs* who knows… some things gonna have to change – I’m interested in just what is or will, how, and the fallout, heh.

    • Black Angel Says:

I really wonder why male American Idols attract a fanbase of grandmas. If you were a young man, would you want your grandma following you around like a lovesick puppy? Of course not! Then they wonder why their Idol is not a superstar. They don’t understand that they are part of the problem. There’s something very dirty about an old woman lusting over a young man that is a major turnoff for the normal fan.

      • just dont get it Says:

let’s face it, the grandmas aren’t the biggest problem, it’s the music! The only way he will get more fans is to get his music on the radio. Just one hit song would do wonders. I’m just not sure this album has any of those!

      • Black Angel Says:

That’s true too. Instead of rocking out, he made soft pop music for grandmas. Did they really think that was going to sell?

      • songkat7 Says:

Actually, I thought that The Last Goodbye was basic mainstream pop like what you hear on the radio, and was shocked it wasn’t played more. In effect, he DID do what people are suggesting in releasing a song that fits right in with what’s being played on mainstream radio.

What is he supposed to do, start doing dance pop shit?

So it may go back to the Idol thing – stations (like the one here) that refuse to believe that most Idols could be successful, so they won’t play them (Kelly and Daughtry aside).

      • songkat7 Says:

Adding to my prior post – mainstream radio is not playing harder rock. To my disappointment, but it’s just not. And rock radio is snobby against Idols, so there you go.

      • Karen D Says:

With the exception of a few songs, I don’t really see the album as soft pop.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

He gets grannies because the Idol audience is primarily made up of them. They have no fucking clue about real music and believe all the scripted bullshit. Stalking him on the tour is just continuing the show for them.

      • Black Angel Says:

Rubber Ducky, a lot of tweens and teens watch Idol too, so why aren’t they supporting their favorites? It seems they disappear once the show is over and all that’s left are the grannies.

      • burt Says:

Younger fans have shorter attention spans so aren’t as loyal waiting for releases unless it’s a massive star. They are also more influenced by the media and as David isn’t often in the media (not in an in your face kind of way like on entertainment shows or magazines) that could count for something. So many young music fans into the Rhianna/Beyonce style of music that is pushed on everyone – they listen more to what they are told is good in the mainstream world rather than seeking out their own music.

I worry for the music industry as a whole when I look at charts and awards shows – there so many good people who can’t get exposure (not talking about David who made money while being mostly off the road but people who cannot make a living at all from their music) and yet so many people are making money from crap. The younger fans just don’t buy music like people had to back in the day (and by that I mean 10 years ago). I hope it can recover, somehow.

I agree with SongKat – so many people complained about TLG being too mainstream then when it didn’t do as well as people hoped, they went back to wanting him to release a mainstream song. When the second single discussion was happening there were people hoping certain songs were not released because they were too mainstream. In the end, they released a ballad – not exactly re-writing the rulebook, was it? I actually saw people saying he doesn’t seem willing to write a hit so it’s basically his fault that he’s not doing “well”. Of course, the same people want David Cook from 10 years ago. Does anyone really think if he released that music it would magically get exposure and do well? And how can anyone think TLG wasn’t written to try to be “the hit”?

  14. Surrie Says:

OHH, it just makes me soooo mad when bad fans get attention and good fans don’t. We know what makes a good fan. Why does a bad fan get a full-on real hug? Grrrr.
David, we know you read here. Wink wave. We know you are. Maybe Andrew is. His carreer is so over and the music is terrible so we’ll just make fun of the bad fans instead. We’re the real fans here. Normal as can be.

    • Fluffy Says:

That was the strangest post ever lol. We’re the real fans! Even though your music sucks and your career is over!

It made me giggle, I can’t help it πŸ™‚

    • AmyB Says:

Very strange. I don’t know where you’re coming from. I had to giggle and shake my head.

    • Rubber Ducky Says:

      Trolling 101.

    • Ali Says:

Surrie is a troll lol…just goes to show all the “bad” fans do read here lmao! And the “good” fans would be mortified for that kind of attention surrie lol! To be recognized because they buy 1000 vip’s and throw themselves shamelessly at the guys! And of course Dave…and Andrew…and cute little Dubs do read here and love us all the best! *waves, winks, flails, thuds..* πŸ™‚

      • freedavidcook Says:

Bah ding! When someone new shows up and says something stupid or that everyone ignores of course it’s a troll.

I find it amusing that while NotTheDavidCook likes to bash the batshit tards it likes to bash those that would be on the same side too. It’s just a shit-stirrer without an original thought.

      • Fluffy Says:

I need shit-stirrers with wit. Then at least they are good for a chuckle.

  15. Beauxcefus Says:

He just needs some more interesting to the masses music and songs. Being an artiste is all well and good – if you’re not an Idol winner with loads of expectation and preconceived notions of who you are tagging along for the ride. I held out hope that this CD era could be saved when RCA FINALLY decided to put out single #2, but lost hope when the song picked was Fade Into Me. SMH. TOML redux. It probably will do no better than TLG, which digs his hole on radio a little deeper for the next round. He can come back w/ a smoking single and a more commercially accessible CD – if that’s what he wants. If he’s content with the way things stand in his career, and feels no need to make any adjustments, then so be it. It’s his career. The tards and their shenanigans will provide the comedic relief. πŸ™‚

    • Black Angel Says:

Even the tards will lose interest if he does nothing. Taylor Hicks had at one time a big fanbase, but Taylor did nothing with his career and now it’s trickled down to just a few crazy frauen, who still think he’s going to make it big some day. Right.

  16. Amusedbyfandom Says:

I’d like to interject a little perspective for fans and foes alike. From info posted on MJs Big Blog. Daughtry had a concert Nov 12 in Fairfax VA at the Patriot Center. Out of 6487 seats, 2,343 were sold (36%). This was a benefit concert for military veterans with tickets about $60. Sales this week for new record saw a 69% drop from last week (which is industry average I believe).

Point you may ask, lol. It’s hard out there for almost everyone in the music industry that’s not a straight up autotuned pop star.

    • Rubber Ducky Says:

People are turning from generic faux rock as made by Nicklecrap and their clones. Just look at the charts. It’s no longer in.

  17. Amusedbyfandom Says:

Oh, and by the way. I like Daughtry and brought a couple songs from the new CD

  18. burt Says:

OK, I’ll bite… I’m totally laughing at NotTheDavidCook’s tweets. Whoever you are with your Twitter account dedicated to the man & his fans, if you think I’m obsessed you need help. I’ve clearly said many times that I don’t have time to keep up with everything he or the fans do (I often have to ask) and most of my time here is spent questioning things people say that are based on nothing at all. Regardless, I doubt he’s losing any sleep on what anyone here is saying when the people claiming to be his true fans are saying far worse everywhere else.

Some here have are open about being big fans, or being tards, some are more casual fans. But whatever, you go ahead and believe what you want. As long as it gives you something to tweet about, hey?

I’m tempted to write you a nice long essay just to please you but really, I have better things to do. Sorry to disappoint you.

    • JennPaz Says:

The drama never ceases to amaze me.

And burt, I didn’t know you wrote novels! Anything we might have read? πŸ˜‰

      • freedavidcook Says:

Yes, Burt, about that novel…. what’s it about? Crazy people?

      • 'NucksGal Says:

So now someone who makes fun of/hates on the tards is starting to make fun of/hate on those who do the same?

Wow. Given the choice, I’d rather be a tard than a hater. Laugh all you want, I really want to see David live & do a m&g. I don’t know much about his personal life but I did buy the fan-pack CD when it came out.

I think those twitter accts (Notdc, Factory, baby-something etc) are funny too. Would be funnier if one of them turned out to be David, Andrew, a friend of theirs etc.

But I don’t get creating or causing drama. Either pro or anti-tard.

      • burt Says:

It’s great isn’t it? I think the “who is the better fan?” question is something only a true tard would think about. I wasn’t going to get into it but I’m interested in what everyone thinks. I’m not being defensive, no need to be, and I’m not pissed at the tweet but I’m in a fighting mood tonight. Forgive me! πŸ™‚

It’s funny. I buy David’s music, try to follow his career and support where I can (buying music, recommending him), I’ve never met him (no desire to go out of my way to), never seen him play (not had the chance), he seems like a good guy but I don’t know every detail about his life or career, I semi-regularly post here (there are nice fans who can see the BS and have interesting discussions that don’t get blocked when you go against the grain), I try to see all sides and not judge too much, I don’t spend all day tweeting or day dreaming about him, I don’t really give his family or dog-care arrangements any thought let alone criticize or hassle them… I could go on. Does that make me a “better” fan? I don’t know. I’m not helping him increase his bank balance too much and I’m not actively publicizing him though online voting campaigns and the like but then again, he doesn’t fear me or know my name/face because he sees me all the time either in person or online. I also don’t make a fool of myself (and him) online while defending him as God. I think I’m just about happy with my standing as a fan in the great big “who is the better fan” fight and if I *had* to make a choice, you know what? I’d say that yes, I am a “better” fan.

I would like to see someone argue that I (and others here) are no better than the hard-core, traveling, tweeting pack who often appear to make his daily life difficult and affect the way he and his family live (not to mention the way it affects how he deals with “normal” fans).

As the rumor is that David, or his team, read here maybe they can to post their thoughts. I mean, it’s all about being best in his eyes isn’t it? Damn him for not issuing us with guidelines. For someone with that account to question us here is just fucking funny. I guess calling out all fans makes you some kind of top tier tard? Where do you sit on the better scale if you spend your time trawling tweets, being bitchy to other fans and trying to bring stupid tweets to David’s attention, not to mention making them easier for casual fans to see when you @ reply him. Trying to gain points by bringing things to his attention doesn’t make *you* any better, NotTheDavidCook.

And yes, JennPaz, I’m very accomplished. But I try to keep it quiet. Damn my posts here for outing me. πŸ˜‰

      • songkat7 Says:

Ooooo, I’m so honored to be named as one of the ‘obsessed’ ones. *preens*

      • sansdelusions Says:

Huh? I have no idea who or what it is we are all cranky about now? Is this some tweet person? NottheDavidCook? (Sorry excuse for a tweeter here peeps – trying to live a semi-normal life) *LOL*

What drama is passing me by here? Notthedavidcook is a big meanie poopoo head? Is that the prob?

ETA: Yes, yes I do follow Cooks TL off and on, but I also try to do other stuff for the other 23.90 hours of my day….

      • freedavidcook Says:

I am neither a fan or a hater on Cook. I just feel sorry for some poor sap that seems to have been sold a bill of goods by Idol and saddled with the most crazy fan base in America.

However I would gladly be a Crystal Bowersox tard.

The ‘drama’ with notthedavidcook just confuses me. It don’t make no damn sense.. and I got other things to think about. But I do still want to read Burt’s novel..LOL

      • JennPaz Says:

I wholeheartedly agree with you, Burt! I consider myself a fan of David’s. I think he’s talented, and I want to see him do well. I buy his music, have seen him in concert (albeit just once and that was two years ago) and I read all the interviews and articles about him to stay in the loop. So, yeah, maybe I’m even more than just a “casual” fan (I do know his birthday and middle name after all lol). But I’m not overly-invested like some seem to be in his fandom. The constant tweeting of nonsense, the multiple shows and M&Gs, flying across the country just to see him… getting in his face and acting like he’s my BFF or boyfriend or whatever. All of that isn’t normal, although I know it happens in other fandoms, too. For some reason, to me, it just seems much more prevalent with David. And why, I don’t know.

And did anybody hear that interview he did yesterday with that Mark and Mercedes Radio show out in Vegas? It was interesting because Mercedes even brought up his fans and how they’re always emailing them and tweeting them, way more than any other artist’s fans. I’m sure she wanted to tell him, “you’re fans sure are crazy, Mr. Cook!”

Oh, and for what it’s worth. I enjoy coming here and reading all the different opinions (it’s been very insightful). And I’m glad that we can agree to disagree on things without people attacking you if you have a slightly different opinion from that of the majority. At DCO, one little negative criticism, and you’re tarred and feathered!!

And forgive me if I’ve rambled. I’m in the final hour of an 11-hour shift at work! πŸ™‚

    • Fluffy Says:

I HAD to go peek at “not associated with FDC blog”‘s timeline, didn’t I? Though I lasted about four tweets (hey, I got mentioned, woot!) before my eyes burst into flames and that was it. I don’t have the time or energy to spend that much time and energy obsessing about people who are obsessing. Or something.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

I’d say the troll up above is the same crackpot as the Twatter obsessive.

      • Fluffy Says:

Seems like it. Can’t trolls be WITTY? I don’t trolls in general but a very funny and sharp troll would at least be diverting. You just can’t find a good troll anymore *put upon sigh.*

      • sansdelusions Says:

Ohhhh how exciting! πŸ˜‰ I broke down and went and looked at Notthedavidcook’s T/L to see what all the blathering was about – and got a namecheck too – woo-hoo! Ooooooooh I am soooooo flattered! Awesomesauce or whatever that nonsensical word is. πŸ™‚

But seriously now, denizens of this blog. Let’s face reality (and that includes you too R. Ducky).

I have said this before but it bears repeating – we are every single one of us “obsessed” to some degree – else we wouldn’t be reading/posting/lurking here or on DCO or on twitter or in any other DC related blog – um EVER. We just wouldn’t. Why not? Cuz we just wouldn’t care. We’d have long since “moved on.”

Yet here we are. Day in day out. Sure, some of us may ONLY come here, but lots visit other places or are obviously on Twitter etc. And sure, for some of us it’s an intermittent fascination, yet for many, its still a daily part of our lives, getting close to 4 years now!!!

So yes, time to face the music peeps – we are “obsessed” with “something.”

Now, I am not saying we are necessarily obsessed with COOK per se, but there is obviously some intangible something, maybe it is just simply his goofily fucked up fandom – the good, bad and ugly – that intrigues us, I haven’t really figured it out myself yet (and the day I do I will be long gone) – but like it or not we are a part of it. We all are.

      • freedavidcook Says:

I am obsessed with the crazies. I cannot look away from the bat shittery. That is all.

And… NotTheDavidCook/Surrie is none other than Ms Broward County Schools again coming out of Florida. Yawn. Someone with an ax to grind for not being greeted here with sunshine, puppies and David’s schlong. Boring..

      • JennPaz Says:

I can only speak for myself, but yeah… Maybe I have become somewhat of a tard of this blog lol! I just find it all so very fascinating the way these Cook tards act that I can’t wait to read about their latest shenanigans. It blows my mind the extremes they go to and how blinded they are by their “love” for David. I never even knew all this was happening until I came across this blog a few months ago. And for me, I equate it to a car accident. You dont really want to look at the wrecked cars and mangled bodies, but you just can’t help it. It’s human nature to be curious and want to know what’s going on. At least that’s what all this is for me. And I’ll admit, I may troll every now and then on the tards’ twitter page and see what craziness they’re spewing that day.
Hi, I’m JennPaz and I’m obsessed with David Cook’s tards lol

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

I just love watching a good trainwreck and the other tard groups aren’t quite so entertaining. Even the Sparkle Cows have shrunk in numbers. It’s hilarious that you tards still think rugboy has a chance at anything beyond bartending πŸ˜†

I bet he’s dropped from his label before the end of January. Can’t wait to see the litany of excuses after that. πŸ™‚

      • Fluffy Says:

Real life is stressful. Come here for a laugh. Which is why I would request trolls to have wit, please. #blogtard

      • burt Says:

I’m not obsessed with him but I am interested in the fan behavior – they fascinate me (the thousands of people like them interest me equally). I’m not obsessed with them though, I can’t keep up with who most of them are and I don’t read their tweets 24/7.

Reading tweets and posts here keeps me up to date with his career because he’s awful at tweeting news and god knows, you can’t rely on his site. Twitter is often so excitable at nothing so here is often the logical place. Yes, I can hear the tards laughing at that! I do give them credit at being good at sharing news – too enthusiastic mostly but it is often the way I find things out.

I think for most of us, David is just one of a group of people we like and follow the career of. What I’m trying to say is, I don’t think coming here constitutes an obsession with him or the fans. It does make us more than casual fans though. Maybe if I had more time and no life I could become obsessed with someone but as it is, I have to spread my time between keeping up with everyone and living normally.

Anyway, that’s my take on it. I’m going back to my novel, I’ve got a few hundred pages in me to write. πŸ˜‰

      • nicole Says:

i’m obssessed with this blog. πŸ˜€

      • Nist Says:

I love David’s voice and always have, but I am fascinated by his fans, for better or for worse. I knew there were tards from being on Television Without Pity (and from there, I knew about Claymates, the Soul Patrol, whatever the Blake people called themselves, and the Glamberts). But I had no idea of the depth of it, in terms of money spent and the goal of spending so much time in David’s presence (at concerts, hanging at out the bus, at his appearances, etc.) I wasn’t on twitter until this year and had no idea that people signed up expressly to discuss David (for the most part).

I found FDC around the time of This Loud Morning’s record release, read back through the most excellent archive, and the rest is history. πŸ™‚ The whole thing is just so sad -especially the money part – on so many levels, I can’t stop reading about it (and commenting about it). I mean, people spend huge chunks of their work VACATION TIME to go see David sing for an hour and 15 minutes and “party” with their fellow tards. WTF?? I only get a certain amount of vacation per year, I’m using it to, you know, vacation. David is pretty. Not as pretty as Paris. πŸ˜‰

Since I’m being judgmental and all, πŸ™‚ – it may be a bad thing to say, but the age thing is the thing that really gets me. I’m a bit younger than David. The idea that people 20-40+ years older than him are so explicitly sexual, worshipful, and unreasonably overprotective about this 28-year old guy who didn’t ask for that *really* does bother me on some level. It’s one thing to think he’s attractive or admire his charity work but the open expression of lust – written on the internet for all to see, forever – is flat-out disturbing. It’s just…unseemly, like an extremely delayed adolescence in bloom or something. I cringe for his friends and family who might encounter it, and I honestly think it’s hurt his career. I think it’s OK/normal to act insane over somebody for a while when you’re a teen or young twenty-something, but after that – grow up, people! For the 10,000 time: He is not going to fall in love with you – or even treat you to a one-nighter. πŸ˜‰

      • Surrie Says:

So many assumptions, yet all of them are wrong. You know what happens when you assume.
But everyone here knows David better than the bad fans do. We also know all the fans because we obsess about them all the time. Yes we do. There’s only so many fans after all. All of them fattie cat grannies. And everyone who disagrees with us good fans has to be part of some conspiracy.

We’re even more obsessed with David’s dick than the bad fans. Not to mention the puppies. Good doggies. Now to apologize for enjoying him and let me write out the requisite treaty on what type of fan category I fall into.

      • freedavidcook Says:

Surrie dear, I hope you’re not teaching because you seem to have spelling fail quite a bit. Fess up, you’re the lunch lady, correct

I could simply ban you but that would take away the fun of seeing your latest schizophrenic behavior. Yawn.

      • Fluffy Says:

It’s a “treatise,” dear. Unless you’re working on a peace pact.

  19. Jen Says:

And Rubber Ducky, what are you going to do when that doesn’t happen? When he gets another record? I mean, I guess eventually you’ll be right and he’ll be dropped or change labels but it’ll be pretty boring to keep predicting it. πŸ˜‰

    • sansdelusions Says:

Ducky – Just FYI David is not being dropped by RCA anytime soon and in fact is getting another record. You may want to save this note for future reference πŸ™‚

    • Karen D Says:

Rubber Ducky…I don’t think that he’ll be back to bartending any time soon since he’s worth a few million. Even if the label drops him and he never does another album, he’s better off than the rest of us. LOL

    • Rubber Ducky Says:

πŸ˜† it’s good to continue the delusions. Keeps the rest of us amused.

      • Karen D Says:

So you don’t think he’s worth millions? LOL Okay then.

      • Nist Says:

David is pretty rich. πŸ™‚ He got a huge advance (which the record company can’t take back) of $350,000 for his first CD and $375, 000 for his second one. That money didn’t have to be spent on recording costs (which come out of a separate fund). David made hundreds of thousands on the Idol tour (poor Scotty made like 1/5 of previous Idol winners from tour since the contracts have been mega-cheapened up now). He made hundreds of thousands of dollars for making Disney-related appearances. He made a chunk of money doing Skechers ads (don’t know how much). He’s got 2009 tour money and merchandising money from 2008-2009. He got advances from his publishing company. He gets songwriting royalties, which the record company can’t touch (unfortunately, with mediocre sales and little licensing to TV/movies yet, that’s not a lot). Add in money from private gigs and he’s doing better than fine, unless he has a lousy business manager.

As far as RCA goes, they either have or will likely renew his option for a third CD. However, I strongly suspect they have/will renegotiate his deal to be a 360 deal, meaning they will get a cut of his future touring and merchandising money. RCA doesn’t get that money now – David was lucky enough to sign in the window right before 360 deals became the norm, plus he signed an Idol contract. With David’s low sales and unusually rich deal, I seriously doubt they’d keep his contract as is. So if RCA doesn’t renew (and they have that option before *every* record in his contract – it’s not a given that he gets to make a new record), it’s probably because David didn’t agree to their renegotiation terms.

Thank you MJs for planting this info in my head. πŸ™‚

      • JennPaz Says:

But doesn’t David have to pay for a lot of stuff too? Like when he makes a record, doesn’t he have to pay for studio time and the producer, recording engineers and session musicians? And then when he’s on tour, doesn’t he have to pay for the crew and equipment and buses and trucks, etc? I thought all that comes from the artist’s pockets? Not to mention he probably has to pay for lawyers, accountants, stylists, assistants… On top of “normal” expenses like mortgage, car, utilities, groceries, et al. I even wonder if he pays Andy and Monty and all them. So David may not be as rich as we think since his latest album hasn’t sold all that well lol

      • Nist Says:

Since David is on a major label, it’s pretty likely that his label paid his recording costs. If the label paid, those costs are recoupable (as are the expenses for music videos, album stylists, etc) -meaning David’s not out any money, but RCA keeps tracks of how much they spent and doesn’t have to pay him *anything* until This Loud Morning makes back the money they spent (which will probably be never, barring a miracle lol). I’ve never seen it confirmed, but some people have speculated that RCA put the band members on retainer during the recording of TLM, which means they paid them during that time – which would fall under recoupable recording costs. It makes sense since the band didn’t really seem to have other jobs during that time.

Touring costs depend – traditionally labels like RCA had a budget for touring support and paid for a good portion of the costs. That support has been going away because labels aren’t making money. So only David and his people know who paid for his tour. Sometimes artist’s management pays, sometimes the artist does. Sometimes the label will pay in exchange for something (like the money made from merchandise). Some tours have sponsors who pay some costs, though I don’t think David’s had that. If David’s paying for a portion, then he might not make that money back. It depends on how much the merchandise and VIP sales bring in and how much is left over after everybody takes their commission on the merchandise, etc. I wouldn’t be shocked if David lost money on this tour or just broke even.

I’m not saying he’s a gazillionaire. πŸ™‚ David does have expenses and his management takes a nice chunk right off the top of everything he makes. I’m just saying he’s made a lot of money. Will he make that amount of money in the future? Sadly, probably not.

      • JennPaz Says:

Thank you for the explanation! The business side is kind of confusing sometimes since there are so many players involved lol And I’m sure David has a good accountant/business manager who watches over his money so he doesn’t go bankrupt like TLC did!

      • Nist Says:

I’m no expert, but there have been some good articles about Idol contracts and record labels in general in the past few years, since they’re imploding at the moment. πŸ™‚ I’m with you in hoping David has someone good handling his stuff as well. There are a lot of bankrupt musicians and athletes out there…I remember TLC going bankrupt! I think I saw them in an awesome Behind the Music Marathon when they started that show up again last year lol.

Also just to clarify: when I said that RCA doesn’t have to pay him anything until TLM makes money, that doesn’t include his advance for his next CD. If they do renew his option, they have to pay him his advance and they can’t recoup that money. I believe his next contracted payment was scheduled to be $400,000 or $425,000 for the third CD, but I imagine that amount would be lowered in a renegotiation.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

        πŸ˜† expert frau is expert…. πŸ˜†

Pity you’re talking out of your ass.

      • JennPaz Says:

Yeah because doesn’t an artist get only a couple of dollars for every album they sell? Guess it depends on what kind of deal they sign with the record company. And I remember from TLC’s Behind the Music episode that they signed such a bad deal that they only made a few cents off each album sold. Because you would think these artists would be super super rich since they sell millions of albums but that’s not always the case. And it has to be even harder today since most people don’t buy whole albums anymore, they just buy singles. I think the days of artists selling millions of albums are long gone unless you’re lady gaga or Taylor swift or Justin bieber. Damn you itunes lol

      • Nist Says:

Yes, apparently since album/CD sales are so low, that’s why touring money (and merchandise) has become so important. Also songwriting is one of the few ways to still make money, which is probably why David wanted all of his songs on TLM to have his name on them.

BTW, here are the contract numbers for Idol season 8 and 9, the year after David. I think their seasons increased a bit in terms of money than previous seasons, then there were drastic cuts made in payouts for season 10 contestants :

        Record Contract Advances Escalations:
        Album #1: $350,000
        Album #2: $275,000 – $550,000
        Album #3: $325,000 – $650,000
        Album #4: $375,000 – $750,000
        Album #5: $450,000 – $900,000
        Album #6: $500,000 – $1,000,000

Note: All future advances dependent on the success of the previous album

      • JennPaz Says:

I hate to say this, but with the exception of perhaps Kelly and Carrie, I don’t see any other Idol winners putting out a sixth album and obtaining that million-dollar advance. But I could be wrong… Taylor Hicks could make a HUGE comeback!! πŸ˜‰

  20. Nist Says:

Andy and Kyle tweeted that they were excited about their last show of the tour tonight in NYC. That set off a minor panic among the West Coast tards headed to Vegas to see the band tomorrow for their radio station sponsored show (which is not officially part of the tour).

It made them realize that despite their hopes of witnessing an “epic” ending to the tour in LV (someone was hoping for a 22 song set like David did once recently, plus David playing all his covers), they’re going to get a standard radio “Jingle-Ball-ish” set of 45-60 minutes. Plus – and this is the main issue, I would wager – they don’t get the prestige of bragging that they were at the last show on tour.

ninasfeet tweeted that she was sad about this and should have gone to NYC tonight instead of Vegas. Her friends are consoling her. debrakay says her excitement has been dimmed. Oh well…

    • JennPaz Says:

Don’t these people have other, more important stuff to worry about? Sheesh! But I can’t wait to read all the stories from this wrrkend though lol

  21. nicole Says:

    • Amusedbyfandom Says:

Doesn’t appear from her timeline that she actually went to the show…so the usual cheap shot. *Yawn* Too bad, seems like the last day of the tour was a pretty exciting show. Jerry, the drummer for KingX sat in as the drummer for David’s cover of their song and Ryan Star and Stevie Van Zandt ( SVZ on guitar and vocals) came on stage for covers of a Beatles and Led Zep songs.

      • Jen Says:

I was there – it was pretty fantastic. And the crowd was pretty mixed, agewise. Young near me actually. A few guys sprinkled in.

      • Nist Says:

Maybe a cheap shot, but it shows that four years later, people still have that image in their minds and because of the tards, David has to overcome it. David needs casual fans. If people still think David Cook = horny ladies when they walk past a concert venue with his name on the marquee, doesn’t help him out much in the ticket-buying arena. He has to actually get them into the concert to change their minds, so if they won’t buy a ticket, then…

Because of actions of some tards both in the past and now (though I assume the amount of hardcore tards have now probably diminished in number), a meme of crazy tards is still out there. JennPaz pointed out above the interview where Mercedes from the radio station asks about David’s fans. This morning I saw a TV interview David did yesterday where the interviewer talks about the fans and how they know everything about him. Both times it was couched politely and positively (they love you!) but the fact that super enthusiastic fans seems to be brought up as a common subject in his interviews (I can think of two other ones offhand) shows that the meme is out there. Though they’re being polite, I doubt that these interviewers think of David’s fans the way they think of Little Monsters (lady Gaga’s fans) or similar fan groups. I think the underlying message is pretty clear.

And say David made new fans last night. They’re interested enough to check him out on twitter and his official site to learn more about him. What do they see this morning if they view the first page of the most trafficked thread in his official forum? A couple of grandmothers discussing how spending time with their grandchildren potentially interferes with watching David on a ustream or attending a concert. I mean, really? Yup, that’s a place a casual fan of a rock musician will feel comfortable…not.

      • Karen D Says:

MVZ was a fan of his from Idol, met him, and now they are good friends. I don’t know why you’d consider her a tard. She doesn’t lust after him or follow him around. She’s been to a few of his very local shows and that’s it.

      • freedavidcook Says:

The information I have says straight up tard. SVZ might have written with Cook and Cook may have given them a dog but their connection with Cook stems from the Mrs obsessive tardism with him..I stand by my source…

      • songkat7 Says:

        FDC – interesting! πŸ™‚

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

Maureen Van Zandt is a known psycho frau who uses her husband’s celebrity to meet these losers πŸ˜† She’s a mega tard from way back with no taste in music

      • songkat7 Says:

Which would explain her support of Constantine. *blech*

      • Karen Says:

MVZ is friends with several past Idols, not just DC. She has only gone to his NYC shows, not all of the area shows, as someone else had said. She actually has a life, which makes her the farthest thing from a tard as possible.

      • freedavidcook Says:

Actually MVZ got in the middle of a tard war between the Daughtrites and the Soul Patrol pretty badly, really stirred the pot from what I seen. Being famous by being married to someone famous does not a) give you perfect taste in music or anything else or b) except you from behaving like a tard. Think she’s so wonderful all you want Karen but there’s plenty of evidence out there that she’s a tard and a tard that’s used hubby’s fame to get closer to her Idol of choice.

She seriously needs to knock off the plastic surgery before she ends up on the awfulplasticsurgery.com like Clay did..

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

Hi Maureen! Still think Daughtry are better than Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band? πŸ˜†

        How goes the plastic surgery?

      • Black Angel Says:

Maureen Van Zandt was a psycho Daughtry tard back in the day. Her fights with the Soul Patrol tards on the Idol boards were notorious.

    • JennPaz Says:

Pardon my ignorance, but what does jfc mean?

      • freedavidcook Says:

Steve Van Zant was there because his wife is a freakin’ tard. Or borderline tard. I’m not sure which. But of course she was there with bells on. She goes to all of Cook’s gig in the NYC area.

      • songkat7 Says:

JFC = Jesus f’ing Christ (a term I really hate)

Putting on my “obsessive” hat for a moment (lol), as for the VZ’s, they’re actually friends of David’s. Back when David first got his dog and the dog wasn’t working out well on tour, the VZ’s took care of him for awhile. David reciprocated by giving them their current dog. And David has written with SVZ, so in this case I’m not sure it’s a case of tarddom.

      • Nist Says:

MVZ is a tard who turned into a friend. πŸ™‚ Which is great for David and likely helpful to him, but doesn’t change the fact that she was a tard. She loves a lot of reality music show contestants.

      • JennPaz Says:

I’m sure some of the hardcore tards wish they could be David’s friend. Oh, who am I kidding? They already think they are… never mind lol

      • Karen D Says:

In any case, she is a close personal friend at this time. How can you be a tard if you are friends with the person? She’s not interested in him romantically, doesn’t follow him around the country, doesn’t do anything that the tards are called out for here. I don’t understand how that qualifies her as a tard. Maybe we need to set specific behavior that is required…

This is a perfect example of someone who is NOT OTT being accused of things.

      • freedavidcook Says:

Just look at the pattern of Maureen Van Zant’s behavior over the years towards the Idols. She’s posted reams of stuff that sounds EXACTLY like a tard plus there are all sorts of tales of her antics. It’s there online. I’m making this up. You just need to google.

Close personal friend eh? There are lots in the fandom that say that too.

      • Jen Says:

I don’t know how it all started, their connection with him, but if it got David a personal relationship with SVS I’m not going to look down my nose at it, you know? That must be so cool for him. And connections like that are good for him.

      • Black Angel Says:

Karen D, MVZ is most certainly a tard. She has posted so much crap on the internet regarding American Idols. She has openly engaged in fanwars and provoking people. Doesn’t matter that she doesn’t follow them around or constantly squee over them, she is still completely obsessed.

      • Karen D Says:

Has this behavior been directed at David? Not that I’ve ever seen. And yes, they are close friends, even if you choose to pretend their friendship doesn’t exist.

      • Black Angel Says:

The fact that they are friends has nothing to do with it. She is still an OTT tard. I’ve read lots of stuff on her Twitter. She has gone after people who don’t like David Cook and instigated fights. She’s nothing but a drama queen and big, ole TARD. I love it how other tards licks her ass because she’s married to SVZ.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

So Karen D is a tard for the frau Maureen Van Zandt eh? You ain’t the first, you won’t be the last. And she’ll burn you too. Maureen only cares about Maureen. And plastic surgery. And tarding for reality show attention whores.

      • Karen D Says:

Funny that you read all this stuff on her twitter yet she rarely even talks about David on there. Pulling tweets out of your ass perhaps, black angel?

      • Black Angel Says:

Karen D, I have no reason to lie. Also, I’m not talking about now. I’m talking about tweets from her that I’ve seen in the past and her past behavior on fanboards. She’s a troublemaker and an instigator. I doubt that she’s changed her ways, but whatever. You believe what you want to, so go right ahead and lick her ass. I could really give a shit.

      • YoTaylor Says:

I can confirm what Black Angel is saying about MVZ. Back during season 5 she was a Daughtry fan and repeatedly provoked SPers by talking shit about Taylor. Everyone is entitled to their opinion—but it seems like the wife of a high profile musician would show a little discretion—Not this chick. Fortunately I haven’t heard anything from her lately. Maybe her husband told her to knock it off.

      • Karen D Says:

Okay, so we are going to condemn her for something she did in the past which has nothing to do with David, even though it’s David we are talking about now. Got it.

    • IamTard Says:

Doesn’t the term cougar require you to be a hot, older woman? If you’re not hot then you’re just well, old.

Basing on the M&G pics, there were never any cougars.

I spend less time reading here than I do my NBA stats and various news sites, so I highly doubt that qualifies me for tard obsessed.

  23. As the tour draws to an end I found something on eBay that would look great in someone’s little Tardstocking:

“DAVID COOK & THE ANTHEMIC Andy Skib signature guitar pick. One side features a band decal with a text “DC&TA” in reflective gold print; the opposite side features a Andy Skib facsimile signature. It was acquired on the 2011 tour.”

Lol @ “Andy’s facsimile signature” –what? When he was five???

  24. Also for you “Facsimile signature” collectors in Tardtown, this Merchtard has available:

And who knew Monty used a pick in Nw Jersey–or ever?

Is there no end to the bounty of classy items available out there>

    • WilcoisAwesome Says:

Why wouldn’t Monty use a pic? Bass guitars – depending on string gauge/personal preference – require pics too…:)

      • What I meant was that I never noticed Monty using a pic, much less tossing one into the crowd. And yes, it does depend on string gauge and preference.
It has been my observation, however, that most bassists don’t use pics.

    Someone warning him:

Dear @thedavidcook – people in the front just to your left are planning to throw things at you on stage. Be prepared. #sorry

@thedavidcook Welcome to a Dave show. They’re pissed they didn’t get meet and greets. And….they’re like, 70

    • MK Says:

Proof that David can straight out tell people NOT to do something and they are going to do it anyway, because it’s all about what THEY want, not what David wants.

    • JennPaz Says:

I bet David (and for that matter Andy, Kyle, Devin, Monty and Andrew) are kicking back right now with some beers and saying, “thank goodness THAT tour is over!!” lol

      • No kidding.

Hopefully they will take time to re-think a few things before heading out on the road for the next round.

Throwing gift bags on the stage? Really?

Tard Control needs to be a priority.

      • JennPaz Says:

Speaking of tard control, if anyone needs a good laugh, go check out Andrew’s twitter timeline. I’m starting to think he’s getting aggravated with everyone bugging him about posting the VIP pics, which I don’t blame him at all. He’s actually being nicer than I would be!

      • Black Angel Says:

They are probably the happiest about not doing the meet and greets. Not too much eye candy there. Poor Idols, they end up with middle-age women.

  26. Oh boy—-someone better get the Pope on the line. This Tard has definitely been into the holy water.

Tlatz, Milford CT on the NYC show M&G:

While these were happening, I couldn’t help myself so I looked at him and thank God he was not looking at me. Otherwise I’ll probably forget what I saw. His eyes were shiny in a beautiful way. I saw beauty and goodness around him that I could not describe, like looking at a piece of art. Now I understand why painters put halos around the heads of saints. It seems that maybe what I’ve seen in David’s face was also what they saw in the saints. It makes me think now that I am so blessed that the artist that I admire so much is still living. That I am fortunate to meet and see with my own eyes, up so close, while experiencing these feelings. I am so thankful to David and the boys for allowing these M&G to happen and for being so nice, gracious and patient about the whole thing. By the way, I loved his hair that long. Loved how he looked with the hair at the sides combed toward the face. I don’t know what’s going on with me. I think I could just blame the hair for my being so OTT in this paragraph, lol.

  27. MK Says:

“Now I understand why painters put halos around the heads of saints.”

Yikes. Sounds like something out of an unsub’s mind on “Criminal Minds”.

  28. Jen Says:

It seems Kelly got punched in the face at the Vegas show?

    • MK Says:

I wonder what she did to deserve that. From her timeline, it looks like she was drunk off her ass, so she probably got up in somebody’s face and they put her in her place.

Don’t you love how she just had to tell David? Why??? What’s he going to do, kiss it and make it better? *snort*

    • JennPaz Says:

Ok who is kelly? I only know them by their twitter handles. And speaking of which, Becky formerly bleed_into_one changed hers yet again. I think its something like fading2me now

    • nonna-muss Says:

      I need more details. Please.

    • Jen Says:

Becky is starting2fade now. Kelly is ninasfeet. All I’ve heard is that she got punched in the face before David went on, it broke her glasses, and she had to stick them together with gum (was it it gum?).

    • Karen D Says:

And DCKayla got so drunk, she passed out and didn’t make it to the show. She flew to vegas for a show and then was too stupid to actually make the show.

  29. Ali Says:

It seems that Becky’s friend, the famous fanfic tard Kimberly Powell @somberstiches on twitter thought she would warn Andrew that the tards (who are not her friends) were planning to throw there gifts on stage to Dave despite his warning against it. Andrew told her something to the affect that “yeah and it’s your job to let us know?” LMAO! He knows who this tard is and he’s not kissing any of there asses lol! She’s on twitter whining about it him now haha.

    • JennPaz Says:

I saw that. But why was she telling Andrew about it? Not like he was there to do anything about it lol

      • nicole Says:

the klazzier exchange was between somberstitches and yoyosassy.

        SomberStitches Kim
@YoyoSassy You do realize that David has specifically asked that stuff NOT be thrown onstage b/c someone could get hurt, right?

YoyoSassy Yoyo ~ Sweet & Sassy
@SomberStitches Umm yes. That’s why I would ask first.

        SomberStitches Kim
@YoYoSassy David has already said not to, so why “ask” then?

YoyoSassy Yoyo ~ Sweet & Sassy
People think I’m crazy but they stalk Davids mentions for a reason to bitch. #Sad

        SomberStitches Kim
@yoyosassy Go ahead, everybody knows it doesn’t matter what David thinks/wants anyway, right? Gotta get him that gift one way or another.

and then there’s the disappearing tweet where yoyosassy replied to andrew and somberstitches taking everything back saying that she was just joking, she wouldn’t do it and actually had the gift bag DELIVERED (yes she wrote it in caps).

i’m looking forward to the #tewerwithdrawal tweets building up to david’s birthday. have you signed the birthday e-card already? :p

  30. Ali Says:

…from @MrAndrewCook to @SomberStiches (Kimberley Powell) “It’s your job to stop it! quick! Hurry! lol

    • MK Says:

Isn’t that the point of this website? To stop all the tard behavior like throwing stuff? I thought it was here to call out the bad fans and have them see the error of their ways and change. At least, that’s why I come here to bitch about them. Are there are rules, some people are allowed to call out bad behaviour and @ reply Andrew, David, et al, and others aren’t? I’m confused now.

      • riley Says:

Yes it’s the point of the site. But what they are doing here is also pointing out the hypocrisy of the fandom. One of the biggest crazies is tell another crazy not to do something. It’s the pot calling the kettle black.

The fact that @SomberStiches tells someone that it doesn’t matter whether david says not too is beyond being a hypocrite because she does it all the time. Good for Andrew to call her out.

      • Jen Says:

I don’t really know much about her besides the fic that was posted but I agree with some of the things she tweets about the fans. I have no context though since I don’t know the stuff she’s apparently done/said before.

      • Surrie Says:

Yes, it’s our job to follow the going on with everyone who shows an interest in David Cook and analyze their actions here. We are the keepers of what’s good behavior and who can be friends with David. Maureen Van Zandt is just a tard and now she’s his friend so we hate her because fans can NEVER become friends with David. He is above anyone who is a fan and can only meet people and befriend them according to our rules.
We also target people like MVZ who become his friends to preserve his career. Our job here is important. We need to call out the crazies so everyone becomes aware of the behavior and normal people become afraid to be associated with David Cook in case they be targeted on this website. His career is in jeopardy.

      • Black Angel Says:

Surrie, I don’t give a shit who David Cook is friends with. I’m not that invested in him. The point is MVZ is a psycho Idol frau and I’ve seen her in action. Case closed.

      • MK Says:

What Jen said. Reading over her timeline, she hardly even mentions David. She’s certainly not one of the ones I’ve seen over and over and over and… infiniti… in the VIP pictures.

People change. She doesn’t seem to be one of the crazies now, but I’m fairly new to this world so maybe I’ve missed her craziness. Maybe she’s a recovering tard, like a recovering alcoholic.

Before anyone asks, I stumbled across this site when searching for David Cook. I really wish I hadn’t, I didn’t know there were people as crazy as ladynsearch out there. I wish I was still oblivious lol

      • JennPaz Says:

Me too, MK. But you have to admit all this is rather fascinating! lol

      • Surrie Says:

Blah blah blah blah – Concern Troll

      • freedavidcook Says:

        Whatever you say NotTheDavidCook..

      • Surrie Says:

Funny how my post got edited. Let’s accuse DCO of shutting down people who disagree with the party line now then talk about hypocricy on this site. Perhaps FDC will make good on the threat to block because you can’t handle dissent.
Doesn’t change that people here hang out in psycho idol Frau circles and delude themselves into thinking they’re doing anything other than drawing attention to stupid behavior in a manner that doesn’t help david at all. Yet he’s the only subject idol here that gets comments.

      • nonna-muss Says:

Yes Surrie, you’re correct. It would be much better for new David fans to go to DCO and see threads dedicated to his right leg, his neck, his eyes and let us not forget about the thread where fans call him Master and want him to paddle them. New fans would think that’s a much, much better place. LMAO.

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

Surrie with a cunt on top.

  31. Surrie Says:

How dare Ryan Star grab David’s ass. David is a grown man, that’s a violation. It was very opportunistic. My stomach turns for poor David with everyone’s gropy hands. It’s up on youtube for all to see.

    • nonna-muss Says:

Because Ryan is David’s friend. Fans are not and never will be his friends. Get it? That’s the difference.

    • songkat7 Says:

Ryan is extremely touchy-feely. He can’t keep his hands to himself no matter who it is. He also planted a kiss on David that ended up on or near his eye, as evidenced by David’s grimace and wiping of his eye afterwards. But it seemed to be in a good-natured buddy sort of way, so I’m not reading anything into it other than buddy stuff. I mean, look at ball players whacking each other’s ass during baseball and football games.

When I saw it, I laughed and shook my head, and all I could think is that Ryan will grope just about anybody, given the chance.

  32. SoOverIt Says:

I wonder which tard will cough up the dough for these babies! You know some tard will be licking the sac juice out of the crotch. http://bit.ly/szbhq8

  33. AmyB Says:

Why do people meet David Cook and suddenly think he is your best friend? That CelticsfaninNH thinks her and David are such good friends. Every tweet to him is hey buddy hey friend. No he is not your friend.

    • nonna-muss Says:

Because he RT’d her or responded to her once on twitter. They both like the Celtics, you see where this is going. That makes them best buds.

      • AmyB Says:

Yes it does, doesn’t it. I just wish some of these people would get a reality check and realize all that they are to him are fans who spend money on going to his shows & buying his records. They keep money in his pocket which is good. They are not his friends who he hangs out with. I think hitting some of them over the head with a brick wouldn’t even help. I think she might be even worse then the Nycarole and Ladynsearch. They tweet him insessively however I don’t think either one of them has ever refered to him as a friend like she has. She needs to look up the meaning of a friend.

  34. Jen Says:

Could it be? David was able to see his friends perform unmolested? It seems the usual suspects didn’t make it to the Arrows to Athens show recently but David did.

    • JennPaz Says:

That’s probably because they spent all their money going to Vegas to see David!

      • Nist Says:

Yeah, I saw that ninasfeet was very upset that she didn’t go after she saw the tweet about David being out at dinner with David Hodges before his Arrows to Athens show.

However, somebody went to that Arrow to Athens show and that somebody was….

        (I know you’re shocked lol)

And no, she didn’t leave him unmolested. Someone was on Twitter yesterday asking if David wrote more than one song on the Arrows to Athens CD and zoo2 tweeted:

–He only mentioned the one last night. At least on the CD, that is the only one.

I’m sure David was thrilled to see her yet again. πŸ™‚ zoo2 has become more circumspect in her tardom, though. She flew to Tulsa to see Neil play with Hell or Highwater and didn’t tweet about it until after the fact or really give details after. She didn’t mention that David was at the Arrows to Athens show until someone tweeted with that question.

David/Andy/Neil’s friend Bryan is playing a show in Tulsa after Christmas and tweeted that he’ll have some friends there. I betcha zoo2 will be there, too. Tweetheart1982 has already tweeted that she’s going. I would normally count on cool_shades being there, but she has calmed down a lot since she became employed lol, so there’s probably a small chance she’ll skip it.

Anybody notice David hasn’t tweeted for five days? Wonder how long he can go without tweeting during the holidays and while he’s on break before there’s a meltdown. Seems like it’s usually the seven day mark without tweets when the panic really ramps up. πŸ™‚

      • Jen Says:

Ohhh I totally forgot about Zoo. Of course. Couldn’t just leave him alone for one night. I knew he was there because someone I know was there and saw him (but didn’t talk to him).

      • JennPaz Says:

Nist, if I’m correct, I do believe iluvdcyes has been tweeting about how much she misses him (and his right leg)! Poor guy just can’t be left alone for a few days, can he?? lol

  35. So it appears Santa’s Elves have been working overtime to make sure the Naughty or Nice Tards will get something special in their stockings this year:

What confuses me is how they came up with this price:

    2.David Cook: Fan Pack
    Features the deluxe CD/DVD, everything

That extra $114 just to have a photocopy of some cheesey lyrics and a guitar that BFF will never play signed by Cook must have Santa laughing all the way to the bank.

    Nice one, DC.

    • Beauxcefus Says:

I think Dave needs da dough. Album sales et al can’t have been enough to cover the recoupable expense shelled out to produce and promote TLM and the 2 piss poor singles to radio. The tour w/DeGraw and by himself doesn’t look to have been all that profitable for him – unless he sold an assload of VIP’s and merch, which I doubt. So natch they resort to further milking of the cows w/this desperate cash grab. There will be I’m sure a few unmilked who will buy one, lol… 2012 is gonna be a fun year in Cooktardlandia, yessir, a fun year.

    • Rubber Ducky Says:

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Gotta pay the mortgage and I bet he lost a lot of money on the flop tour. And flop album πŸ˜†

Better warm up the bartending skills, Baldy!

      • Jen Says:

He made a $1 million (pre-tax, before agent’s and manager’s fees) May ’10 – May ’11 without an album or tour. I think he’s fine. But you keep on keeping on. Lord knows none of us can stop you.

      • songkat7 Says:

*yawn* That’s getting as boring as any tard’s claim of “jellusy”.

      • songkat7 Says:

My comment was for Ducky, not you, Jen. πŸ™‚

      • Rubber Ducky Says:

Ah delusional tards, never stop being stupid πŸ˜† He may have earnt that but then he had to use it to pay for all his expenses πŸ˜† You dumbasses.

      • songkat7 Says:

So you’re coming here to attack us?

        Okay, nice to know.

      • Fluffy Says:

As one who does not have access to Mr. Cook’s bank statement, I’ll hold judgment on who is a dumbass and who is not lol.

      • Amusedbyfandom Says:

        “earnt”……hmmm, sounds real smart πŸ˜›

      • JennPaz Says:

Well, for what it’s worth, the other day I stumbled upon this website that listed how much celebrities are worth… and for kicks I typed in David Cook; said he was worth about $5 million. Of course, I have no idea how current that website is, but I doubt he’ll have to go back to bartending anytime soon.

  36. just dont get it Says:

Did anyone see Not The David Cook’s tweet about his engagement? Whoever it is just LOVES to stir it up!

    • nonna-muss Says:

Sounds like Not The David Cook is trying to act like queen tard by implying he/she has information no one else has. Even if it’s true, it’s his business and no one else’s until he makes it peoples business. There was another account that tweeted that he got engaged a couple of weeks ago too, but it’s now defunct. Also, another that tweeted that over the summer. Shit stirrers is right. The thing about Not The David Cook is that he/she tries to act superior to other fans and calling them out on tard behavior and us out on our behavior, yet turns around and acts like a tard by tweeting that.

      • JennPaz Says:

Maybe NottheDavidCook has David confused with Britney Spears…

      • Jen Says:

Seems that tweet’s been deleted now. Funny.

      • burt Says:

Ha! So the Not The David Cook shit continues huh? Whoever it is is a fool. I saw they said they aren’t necessarily a fan of his – well, if you spend that much time thinking and tweeting about and to someone you don’t like then you need help. They’re calling out the hardcore fans, calling out the people here for criticizing the hardcore fans (because, like, obviously we’re just like them), helping to spread pointless/hateful/dumb tweets and telling tales to David himself. Hmmmm sounds like total tard behavior to me. Newsflash tard: David won’t think any more highly of you than he does any of his other tard fans acting like fools.

To tweet that after criticizing this place is just funny. Carry on whoever you are, you’re making me smile.

      • freedavidcook Says:

Yeah, it’s obviously as dumb as a box of rocks but much more amusing…I love crazy

      • nonna-muss Says:

Now it’s deleted all of it’s followers/followings and locked the account. Guess it realized it’s no better than anyone else.

      • songkat7 Says:

Gee, where else have we seen tweets deleted and accounts locked? #tard

      • burt Says:

Total OTT tard Twitter behavior. Just like all the others. Who’d have thunk it? πŸ˜‰

      • freedavidcook Says:

Here’s a hint for next time NTDC. If you’re going to point at the tard bad behavior you cannot ACT like a tard.

  37. Nist Says:

Hmmm.. who is CrazyForJensen?. Her timeline is filled with David related tweets (so many I couldn’t get through more than a day; I looked at RCA’s timeline instead). Lately she’s taken to tweeting RCA Records about their “failures” (and sending those tweets to David):

#IWannaKnowWhy @RCARecords think they can insult @thedavidcook & his fans by not promoting him & his album, #ThisLoudMorning. #SlapInTheFace
    15 Dec

#ILikeItWhen @thedavidcook gets praised for his hard work & immense talent. Hear that, @RCARecords? Promote our guy…show him some respect.
    15 Dec

#CantWaitToSee @thedavidcook get the respect he deserves from the music industry. Apparently, he’s not gonna get it from @RCARecords.
    16 Dec

Dear @RCARecords: Can you hear the Word Nerds yet? You will. @thedavidcook deserves more from you. #ThisLoudFandom
    17 Dec

    #IfiHadThreeWishes 1 wld be for @RCARecords 2 realize what a disservice they’ve done @thedavidcook, & start promoting their asses off 4 him.

#Igetsoangry cuz @RCARecords has a rockstar in @thedavidcook, and they’re not letting the world know. Give him the respect he deserves!

*lolz* That’s going to help David, for sure!

In other news, both zoo2 and cool_shades bought their Tulsa tickets, as predicted. I hope Andy and Neal show up to make it worth their while. Some others are considering going. Sounds pricey, though:

    cool_shades coolshades
Freakin’ middle seat in the back of the dang plane. There is only ONE person I’d do this for…

    cool_shades coolshades
Now that I’ve blown over half a paycheck, I think I’ll eat lunch…

Ninasfeet used her public account to tweet David asking if there’s an option to run a mile with him at the LA Marathon. She and some others are also trying to volunteer for the event. Looks like the marathon will be the tard gathering place next spring instead of Race For Hope in DC, possibly even for some East Coasters. Apparently David told a fan he might not be able to make RFH because of a prior obligation. So I’ll be amused to see those oh-so-dedicated RFH-ers who insist David’s presence doesn’t have *anything* to do with their dedication show up at the marathon instead, if he really can’t make RFH. πŸ™‚

    • nonna-muss Says:

Neal tweeted that he’s not going to Tulsa for the holidays. Andy tweeted his family is in San Diego, don’t know if he’s going to Tulsa though. What in the frak did they buy tickets to Tulsa for? For what date? Just to go bar hopping in the hopes of finding them?

Crazy for Jensen sounds just plain crazy. Does he/she think spamming RCA is the way to go?

      • Nist Says:

They’re going because they hope that Neal and Andy (and possibly David, I suppose) will all show up for their friend Bryan’s show at a bar/club in Tulsa on 12/29. Bryan tweeted about the show a couple of times and said he’d have friends there. He wouldn’t say who when a couple of people tweeted him to ask, so cool_shades tweeted Andy and asked if he would be there. He didn’t reply, but both Andy and Neal retweeted Bryan’s tweet. That was enough for zoo2 and cool_shades to decide to go. Some others are going, but I believe most of them are within driving distance instead of having to fly in.

    • Fluffy Says:

I’m going to guess that most folks won’t show up this year for RFH. Hats off ahead of time to those who do and are there for the cause, not the celebrity. I’ll be there. I found out about it because of his involvement, but it’s way bigger than him for sure. (If you’re in the area, check it out – one of the best charity events I’ve ever participated in – beautifully run and the course is nice through town.)

      • Nist Says:

That’s really great that you’ll still be there. Everything I’ve heard indicates it’s a very well-run race. Have fun. πŸ™‚

      • Fluffy Says:

You have a heart of stone if you’re not moved by RFH. Or tard blinders, I guess πŸ™‚ It’s amazing. I’m looking forward to it!

    • JennPaz Says:

Yeah, apparently a few have started a website/blog called This Loud Fandom, criticizing how RCA has promoted David and TLM. Don’t these tards realize they are just wasting their time? Like I’m sure RCA, a major record label, is going to listen to the voices of a couple of over-invested crazies…

    • Jen Says:

I can’t even begin to explain how much the RFH/LA Maraton thing pisses me off. Someone tweeted him asking about him doing a charity concert to raise funds. NONE of them are going to be in DC if he isn’t there. One of their biggest grievances with us was that we accuse them of doing charity for facetime. Well guess what? We were right, of course.

  38. Beauxcefus Says:

Some of the comments here are HILARIOUS πŸ™‚ I knew it wouldn’t be long before reality began setting in… 2012 is shaping up to be a helluva interesting year.

David Cook: Why Isn’t This Young Man A Superstar?

  39. Beauxcefus Says:

OK… Which one of you jokers posted this? πŸ™‚

    December 19, 2011 at 5:55 am

I’m 75 years old, and think David Cook is hot! It’s a conspiracy to hold him down, he’s so hot. Been to 20 of his shows, and he is hot. Anyone who doesn’t think so is a poopy head!

IluvDCyes is letting her freaktard flag fly πŸ™‚ She’s older than I thought, haha

    Karen (@iluvDCyes)
    December 19, 2011 at 6:21 pm

David Cook has more talent and stage presence than any singer I can think of! His voice is incomparable…IMO….I do not understand why he is not a superstar yet, but for me, he already IS a superstar, and seeing him LIVE in concert is absolutely priceless. It is about exposure in this day and age of other kinds of music….all I know is that he is HOT and I am 66! He is a superstar in my book…too bad his management cannot see that and do something about it! I am praying!

    • nonna-muss Says:

Luckily that’s only a blog and not for the whole world to see. Those comments are embarrassing to both David and the majority of his fans. The obsessive commentors do him no favors at all.

      • Amusedbyfandom Says:

Why even respond to obvious trolls, guess IluvDCyes just can’t take off her tard glasses long enough to see. I think most regular fans don’t give a shit about superstar status. The over-invested seem to care so much because it will validate them I assume in that I backed the right horse kind of way ( it’s always a competition for idol tards). If I only listened to the so-called superstars, I would have very little music to enjoy.

So, let me get this straight, Zoo2 and Coolshades booked flights to travel during some of the worst travel days (after Christmas) on the off chance that Neal/Andy *might* show up and *might* go up on stage and play with a friend even through both have tweeted that they won’t be in Tulsa during the holidays….hahahaha. Got to had it to Bryan through….hinting to and teasing the Neal/Andy tards is one way to sell tickets for his show.

      • Jen Says:

And they’re spending hundreds of dollars on airfare! Didn’t one of them say she didn’t expect to get better than $600? That’s INSANE.

    • Nist Says:

Well, first of all, look at the title of the blog. Why Isn’t *THIS YOUNG MAN* a Superstar?

Who calls a contemporary rock/pop/whatever musician “this young man” like a grandma or doting aunt would? David Cook fans, that’s who. πŸ™‚ And they do it often. It’s annoying.

I see this comment posted: “The cougar audience was a myth dreamed up by the media. Sad it stuck but his concerts are far from primarily older women.”

Uh-huh. Some of the posters have mentioned their ages in the comments. The ages listed so far, in order: 54, 60, 66, 75, 66. That demo is not underrepresented at concerts. I’ve seen enough Twitter comments expressing surprise about seeing so many at the concerts to believe that.

I recognize the user names of several others who didn’t list their age but are in that age range. Give it up, ladies. πŸ™‚ Because of your insistence on making your presence known – in droves – everywhere David’s name is mentioned on the internet, and by heaping on the OTT praise, you are and may always be the face of David Cook fandom.

“The cougar audience was a myth?” LOL

      • Amusedbyfandom Says:

Can only speak for the one show I went to on this tour, the audience was truly mixed. Teen girls, 20 somethings, young and older couples, guys in groups, different races and yes the dreaded over 40 year old females, lol.

But I have to agree that the people who feel the need to defend David on any and every obscure blog are a special breed…and so are the trolls who show up on those same obscure blogs. Guess they complete each other πŸ˜€

      • Beauxcefus Says:

They hopeless… just hopeless… I was going to also comment on this obsessive need to state their ages… they just screw themselves and their cause over at every turn, lol… They’ll never see or understand just how futile and ridiculous these crusades are. Laughing at them is losing some of its lustre. It’s too damn easy.

Seriously, if I were a 29-year old guy, I would totally be grossed out by a 75-year old grandma calling me “HOT”

And to think my mom is iluvdcyes’ age… I can safely say my mom does NOT have David Cook pillowcases!

    • portland Says:

Apparently he’s a super star in her book.

Good to know, iluvDCyes. Good to know.

  40. Beauxcefus Says:

Who is that Masterclass Lady anywho? I’ve seen her name bandied about by lots of groups, have no idea who she’s supposed to be.

    • Amusedbyfandom Says:

Supposedly she’s some sort of vocal coach who critiques every season of American Idol ( could do other shows, idk). The Lambert stans used to quote paragraphs of her blog on MJs Big Blog during his season. Lol.

Gosh — you just know this is the most bestest speshulist day everrrrrr!

Gosh, I just have to thank Stan and Beth….for the reason we are all here! 29 years ago our wonderful David was on his way into this world, and little did we know that this guy would light up our lives so darned much! I LOVE DAVID ROLAND COOK! That is my Declaration. And finally, finally and finally I am nuts about Circadian after seeing and hearing him do it in person!

Going to bed, will wake up on the birthday of the most amazing guy I have ever met!

    • JennPaz Says:

Yes, thanks to Stan and Beth for having sex and conceiving David… the BESTEST singer EVER in the history of music!!!! That’s what she really meant to say… And if he’s the most amazing guy she’s ever met, then she obviously hasn’t met very many people!

    • AmyB Says:

I actually feel sorry for her. I really think she has some issues and needs some help with them.

    • nonna-muss Says:

Maybe we should make a virtual thank you card for Stan and Beth for ‘doing it’ 9 months before this, the most glorious day of the year.

      • JennPaz Says:

lol nonna!! i’m surprised none of the tards have done that…. or have they??

      • nonna-muss Says:

        Ding! Ding! Ding!

@bethforaker Thank you so so so much for 29 yrs ago

        I’m sorry, I just can’t even….just….can’t.

      • freedavidcook Says:

Is it his birthday or something?

How inappropriate! I am officially clutching my pearls here.

      • nonna-muss Says:

Yes, FDC. Commence to clutching pearls, today is his 29th birthday.

      • freedavidcook Says:

Poor kid gets robbed of a proper birthday by having his five days before a holiday.. that plus tards is bad stuff..

      • AmyB Says:

And that is the reason I feel sorry for her. What an inappropriate tweet to send his mother. I could see telling her she did a good job with raising him & Andrew because she did. But to thank her for basicly having sex and having him. Now if his girl friend thanks her that’s one thing but a fan doing it. is sad.

      • burt Says:

Well, I’m grateful they did the nasty and produced the modern day god and rock superstar that is David Cook – what would I be laughing at right now if they didn’t? But still, I’m not going to tweet his mum to tell her that – to begin with, she might not get my sarcasm. πŸ˜‰

As for fan efforts to celebrate his birthday – good to see them raising money, I just wish I could believe it is for the right reason. I’m sure neither him or the charity mind that though. How many people are going to say they gave to the charity so won’t be going to RFH this year? Also, why did they trend webelieve and not something related to the single? Was it to do with the hope for a cure type message and the link the song has with AI (so I hear, I’ve not seen the promos?) – just wondering why they didn’t promote his single at the same time bearing in mind all the shit they give RCA for not promoting it?

      • nonna-muss Says:

Burt, the We Believe was trended because they were coinciding it with WeBelieve we can find a cure for cancer type thing. Then the Beliebers thought it was about Justin Bieber and then twitter pulled the trend because I think the Beliebers complained or something when they found out it wasn’t about Justin Beaver.

      • burt Says:

Got it – I thought it must have been that reason, not often they miss a promotional chance. And the Bieber stuff made me smile – that’s funny. Now, *those* are some very dedicated fans.

  42. Karen Says:

The more and more I read about some of these people, the more happy I am that I don’t associate with any of them on Twitter or in person. I had one tard follow me on Twitter two weeks ago and I realized the only things she posted was retweets from everyone who posted links, comments, pictures, etc….nothing about her real life. I noticed it three years ago that some of these people just have nothing in their lives except for David Cook, and it makes me sad for them. They all need help.

  43. Molly o Says:

It sems like Becky plans to go to Japan if David plays any shows there. According to some twitter convo’s last night, her and another crazy Julxo. Wtf? They need to get a life and leave him alone.

  44. AmyB Says:

Go check out the card IluvDCYes posted for David. And you will all see why I feel sorry for her.

    • JennPaz Says:

Curiosity got the best of me, and I just had to go look at her card. I can honestly say I’m speechless…. O….M….G….

And from her timeline, it looks like she tweeted him a birthday greeting (or something similar to one) every freakin’ hour today. She ain’t right in the head…
